Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse Tour To The Top!

We had spent a few days sightseeing on Mackinac Island, and on the day we started to head home, we decided to first go see the Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse in Mackinaw City, Michigan. And we were glad we did! It's a beautiful, impressive structure, and became known as the "Castle Of The Straits". We didn't know much about it before we went, so it was all a surprise to us. We found out that there was much to do and see there besides the Lighthouse itself: a gift shop, the Shipwreck Museum, two movies (Shipwrecks of the Straits & Old Mackinac Point Lighthouse Tower Tour), the Keeper's Quarters, a Fog Signal Whistle demonstration, and historical items and information about the Lighthouse. The highlight for us was the guided tour to the Lantern Room at the top of the lighthouse. We had great guides, William and Tyler, and the view from the top of Lake Huron and the Mackinac Bridge is amazing! We had a great time there, and we'd highly recommend you go see it if you get the chance. Thanks for watching!
