When cleaning my filter i fill and stack the baskets outside the canister and bind them together with electrical tape. I then put the canister on its side and slide the baskets in and turn the canister the right way up and cut the tape away from the top of the baskets. This ensures the baskets are aligned correctly, and then i Vaseline the rubber gasket and fit the motor.

The biggest problem with All Pond Solutions is they absolutely insist they have phones that are answered but they never do. Just an automated answer that cuts you off

I have the 1000+uv and the flow is crap I can see particals just swim past the outlet need help is this normal or is there any way of making it more powerful it’s brand new few days old primed up no air locks or out I have water coming out but not a great deal ???

Why don’t they make all pipes clear?

i find mine every bit as good as my fx5 and fx6 ....nothing magic about these big name filters ive had them all over the years and they do nothing different ...2-3 of these on a big tank full of alfagrog and a little internal fulll of floss works perfectly ,easier to clean and remove than an fx6 too,....little tip i always sit my externals in a plastic tub just in case of spills keeps the cabinet bone dry

Great price and has 4 trays you can fill with biomedia, do you have any criticism of the APS externals?

I went for the fx6 Ive had multiple issues with all pond solutions filters so I gave up, buy cheap buy twice

What size would you recommend for a 180 litre tank with dwarf gourami and bosmani rainbow fish with live plants also would do you use stock media or swap it out for something else

Flow rates are miss leading. The rate doesn't include when the media is added. This applies to the size of your tank. So half whatever the manufacturers states

Can i also use this filter for a water turtle in a aquarium 80x30x60 to keep the water clean?

quick question interested on buying one of these done lots of research might be a stupid question but does the uv not also kill the good bacteria or just the bad stuff or do you leave you tank to cycle grow your bacteria then once you added fish use the UV ??

Exelent filters I have three 2000ltr an hour also very large baskets and large piping that do what it says on the box

Allpondsolutins exelent value for the money I have three 2000 ltr h it does what it says on the box and also has large media baskets as well as a large diameter hoses

just started to keep Malawi cichlids in a 4'x15''x18'' tank(jewel ?)which came with an external filter which looks like an all pond solutions 1000 ef which leaks when you switch it off can you purchase new seals from any where. the tank has an internal filter also

no matter how much I prime mine get all thd air out after a couple of hours lots of air in prime again and again air keeps getting in all the hose are under water

what model would you need for a 350 litre tank?

This filter take 55 watts. So no economical then you are using 24/7. I prefer JBL, Fluval FX6 or Eheim pro3-4.

Low price, but how long will it perform well?

Really not sure how good these are. I once bought a pond filter from them and its totally useless with the impeller getting stuck with the slightest of debris. The Hoselock, in the same pond, has been pumping strong for over 7 years, non stop.

I know everyone has a budget, but better for not that much more is available. If you bought one of these, I hope it works well for you. Poor quality products in the hobby are responsible for for so many giving up the hobby. And greedy, ill informed " experts " in aquarium centres. Only recently I was in a shop when the salesman told a young chap that it was ok to add 18 tiger barbs in one go to a three foot newly cycled, so the customer said, three feet tank. It will end in disaster. I wanted to tell him, but never got the chance because of sales staff hovering around.

Do Not Waste your Money!

I bought a Boyu 198l fish tank from this company it has a hairline crack and I have not had it more than a year. They have refused to give me a replacement or my money back. Fish tanks that cost near £300 should last about 15/20 years.

I have now reported this to trading standards, but if you do not want to go through the headache I am going through right now DO NOT BUY ANYTHING FROM THEM!
