I'm a gal, but I love VW Bugs. When I was a teenager in the early 70's, I had a sweet little 64 white bug that had a crank sunroof. I was in with a bunch of guy friends and all 4 of us had bugs that ranged from 64, 65, 67 and 68 models. We would go places sometimes and it was so fun watching peoples reactions when we all drove up somewhere and parked together. Good times and good memories. I'm in my 60's now but would love to own one again!
ОтветитьThis video is both desperately sad and quite amusing 😀
ОтветитьIs Lyndon into Rc Tamiya models too, a man with good taste, classic vw beetles and Tamiya
ОтветитьAnd why did they bash through all that bush when all they had to do was walk along the clear track at the back. You lie about the little things, you lie about the big things, all bullshit. Was put there before spring to "recover " it after the brush grew.
ОтветитьWe gotta see this thing get worked on
Ответитьshould have dug a hole and buried it
Ответитьi got a 57
Ответитьthey fought through that jungle and when they get to it if you look past the beetle it opens up so why not go that way. all a bit dramatic for me......
ОтветитьCame here from ebay what's the reg that's worth 5 million pounds
ОтветитьStraight on ebay 🤣🙈
ОтветитьJust seen this VW on ebay. Reckons £2.5k - £10k !!!!
ОтветитьJust seen it for sale on eBay😂 just another car flipper
ОтветитьI super appreciate that the first topic of the video after the introduction is the discussion on the lack of the BFF. Johnny knows his audience well as that was a question that occurred to me about 30 seconds before he brought it up.
ОтветитьRebuild it, Lyndon! Let's see what you can do. It will be your magnum opus.
ОтветитьAnother Tamiya shirt! 🥰
ОтветитьTax ran out in 1981 so I assume that’s how long it’s been standing
ОтветитьGreat find Jonny but please be careful around heavy equipment. I saw a horrific accident where someone was acting as a counter weight on a forklift. They ended up crushed after it tipped forward and threw them off.
ОтветитьHow is it that every single episode is pure enjoyment? Johnny, absolute top work and you can tell you’re loving it.
Ответитьyou aged really badly, worst that this vw
ОтветитьKnotweed’ knotweed knotweed. Just following the pattern 😂
ОтветитьThe best place for this VW is in a Museum next to a restored one of the same year.
ОтветитьLove this video!
It's making me wish for my third classic Beetle which is very dangerous.
I’m drinking a pint here in Texas and loving your content.
ОтветитьI'd be tempted to cut the rear window and roof panel out and slap it on another car. The rear window is the whole point of the car and looks to be one of the few salvageable parts off it. Would love to see a follow up, if there's any progress worth following up on this car.
Ответитьthat beetle isnt a volkwagen beetle its a volkswa-gone beetle lol
ОтветитьWow! That's beyond Barn Find and bordering on grave robbing! lol!
ОтветитьDVLA say it’s a VW unknown registered 14th August 1956 in Blue
ОтветитьHiya Johnny. Nice find . Especially the honda st70. I collect them and mk1 escorts myself. Very close to that location. I bet that honda would of started right up. Great show buddy
ОтветитьIf the engine block alone is still healthy, it's worth thousands of US dollars.
ОтветитьWow That’s bit of mess 😂😂😂but he’s confident he can do it would love to see this finished sounds lovley bloke hopefully there’s an episode of it finished and how he done it and time scale
ОтветитьCOOL IS IT A WOLFSBURG EDITION?? I had a 59 and I gave it suicide doors, lowered it converted the door windows to one piece windows added white cal rubber painted it two tone baby blue and arctic white… then I bought a 54 oval Man the 59 though hoot auch great gas mileage and this is when gas was $.98 cents a gallon we could put $5.00 usd in it and go from Yuba city ca to Chico ca then to Sacramento ca and back to Chico ca. and back home in Yuba city. Man… kinda want another one now!!
ОтветитьYou can easily get all parts from Sacramento. Ca. At BUGPERFORMANCE.. anything and everything Volkswagen 🤔wonder if their employee still has my old scirocco?? Lmao
ОтветитьSpoiler alert.. please don't do the previews
Ответить"my favourite kind of flap, that" :D in stiches
ОтветитьGreat video.
Ive just purchased a 1975 vw passat that sat in a garage for 38 years. I love the smell of old cars.👍👍
If they knew it was there, I’ll come and they waited over four years to get it out and let it rust
ОтветитьHabt ihr den Käfer wieder fahrbereit hinbekommen wenn ja dann alle Achtung.Ich kann es mir nicht vorstellen.
ОтветитьLovely, if slightly sad, nostaglia trip. My Dad had a '54 oval (in that same pale blue) when I was tiny, probably in the mid-70's. It was sold (or traded in) for a 1972 Hillman Hunter of all things. Super content Jonny, thank you 😍
ОтветитьApart from illness or old age, I find it really hard listening to people who say they love these cars but are happy to allow them to rot in fields or use them like skips in a garage
Ответитьits time to bring it inside. doesn't need a restoration, but just needs to live inside and enjoy the rest of its days
ОтветитьDid he just say "Chewed her flap"?
ОтветитьToo much waffling..get on with it!
ОтветитьImagine the amount of money he’s going to make re shelling it for a 1973 with the oval widows put in it and wings I’d keep an eye on this number plate
ОтветитьNot worth the labor of removing it....
ОтветитьIf the car had any way of restoring then it would have been worth it.
Now you just destroying nature for your own selfish requirements. Nature claimed the car, creatures have made it a home. And you chopping out the surrounding brush as well.
Really absolutely selfish human again showing their nature.
Not you Johnny Smith, you just a witness like me
A gorgeous jewel in the rough, Thanks for this segment. Love the tour through the barn toys
ОтветитьWhen I was very young a neighbor of ours had one exactly like it in baby blue.
I remember sitting in the back and the sound of that engine. There wasn’t a spot on it, as every week it was washed and polished.
Right. Judging by the hundreds of comments shouting JAPANESE KNOTWEED we had to admit that Jonny has never seen the stuff before. He had no idea what the weed looked like. We have informed the land owners, had the cars steam cleaned and burnt all clothing (don't worry, the BFF was not present)! Had no idea so many viewers of this channel are also keen horticulturalists. Thanks for pointing it out. 🌱
