We also had to buy a real pump and filter it cost us about 300 dollars. And in the end it saved us a lot of 💰. Your water needs to be moving. So your will need a 100 amp pump. They don't tell you that the pump that come with the pool is just a temporary one.

I jus ordered this skimmer should be here tomorrow.. I thought about putting a small weight in the trap

How long do you leave the pump on before the pump start to get air in it?

Got the pool 22ft have the same skimmer...it works great in the beginning but then after a while it dosent suck anymore. Water comes barely out. If I take the filter out and clean it it works again for a few minutes and then it repeats. I replaced the filter it didn't help, bad flow after a few minutes again. Don't know where the problem is.

I'm going to order one. I've got the same pool and have already bought the intex sand filter system. One thing to note here is that the blue attachment that the skimmer hose connects to is also perfect for connecting a vacuum hose as well.

Ive heard people say the intex skimmer won't fit on the Coleman frame, I cant tell by looking if your top frame is round or oval. Seems like it fit so I dont know what people in the reviews were going on about

Thanks for the video but how come at the begging of the video the skimmer you have it’s rectangular and then by the end you have a square one
There’s no way you flipped it because you would of have a hole at the bottom or top of the liner

For 18 years I've never ever had luck with any skimmer. They all pop off. No matter what design your pool is the design is flawed. Best to anchor the bottom inside the pool. Use sticky pads on the rail. But even then it will pop off. The design is flawed. It's just not worth burning up the pool pump. Never trust a skimmer.

How do you clean the filter tho? The water comes out and the plugs don’t fit

You need a stronger pump unfortunately which is why when u cover one inlet u get more auction from the skimmer. I have the same pool and skimmer but I have the intex sand filter

I have the same pool and just bought the skimmer, I’m wondering how you used the water outlet to suck in water because the way ours works is the two identical hoses push out the filtered water and the first bigger hose sucks in the water to be filtered which is where I thought the skimmer would have needed to be installed

Been watching a bunch of these setups. What I learned so far, the big curved bracket is for the pools with the big inflatable ring around the top. Other thing is that the Intex skimmer requires a minimum of 850 gal/hr and your pump may be undersized. I'd try adding a diy sand filter as a supplemental system.

I dont understand how you got this thing to not float upwards. I have the same pool and it just floats upward. I have tried to make it as tight as possible. You dont have anything other than the bracket?

A skimmer sock should work well with it as well

Intek? Um, Intex. Above water skimmer? Uh, just skimmer. You do NOT need the plugs nor do you need to turn off the valve. Also you don't even need to do EITHER to do this. Where are you afraid the water is going to leak from?

On screws? Um, UNscrews.

Don't mount on the liner? Stop it. That's nonsense. If your liner is installed evenly between the rail connectors, you CAN'T mount it on bare metal anyway. Also, you have the white housing WAY too high. And in the sun it'll eventually form? Huh???????? What are you even talking about.

Access air? Do you mean excess air?

You're supposed to leave the strainer installed in the wall before you purge the air.

And I'm dying at you trying to put the flow restrictor cap on the end of the fixture. Like, duh. Widen the hole? I'm done.

When you hook up the skimmer to the first outlet, but then cap the second outlet, aren't you preventing the pool from being filtered? In other words, don't you need the second outlet to filter the pool?

How did you get the skimmer to stay in place on the pool rail? Mine keeps popping off from the rails.

Worked well for filling up our pool. Water does run slower but works good as long as the sun is out.
