DHT is 8 times more deadly to the hair than Testosterone therefore it is not a lie.

If you have average genetic sensitivity to androgens, with testosterone you would go bald in 50's and 60's, with DHT in picture you will go bald in your 30's or 35's

Dr.T claims testosterone with dutasteride makes the hair thicker because that’s what testosterone does and the DHT being flushed should result in thicker hair. Is he wrong? He has mentioned this numerous times.

So I had a bad case of Covid 2 week straight fever. Covid pneumonia.

What sucks is that I started TRT like a month before.

Now I am shedding hair and I am paranoid it's the TRT.

However I am losing hair all over not just the male pattern baldness area.

I thinks it's just telogen effluvium(Hair shedding after stress).

I think it's growing back because I do have baby hairs I can see next to my Longer hair.

This experiment is not valid. If you use dutasterude, even thought your system DHT levels are nearly 0, your scalp DHT levels are only decreased by around 50%.

so u think decreasing T is good to be in medium of normal range so ur dick works but not high end say 700+ for hair and all that etc, so 500-600 ish is a good place u think plus dht block that should be good for most

I took blood test before one year and my dht was 0.1 with normal range 0.3-1.0 and now this year before 4 days I took the same and the dht was 2.0 with normal range 0.25-1.0 what is going on ?

Derek, I have an awesome head of hair. I've been on low dose Testosterone Enanthate for about 8 months and I've noticed a decent amount of hair thinning and and a receding hairline. My dude, hair is more important to me than having nice muscles. I'm already decently built so I'm quitting TRT and saving my hair. I'll take Clomid for natural Testosterone production and to help restart my body's natural production.

I think a relevant question would be to ask what level of DHT was in your scalp. If 0.5 mg of dutasteride blocked almost all conversion then why would 2.5 mg work better for hair loss? If I remember correctly, at the scalp, 0.5 mg dutasteride blocks about 80% of the 5ar conversion. Would love to hear your thoughts on this since of course I may be mistaken.

Im late to the party this but if circulating testosterone caused hairloss why would there be no hairloss amongst people with male psuedo hermaphroditism? They have higher circulating test as it wont convert to dht and there are no incidents of hairloss amongst people with this condition , surely if testosterone could cause hair loss at least 1 would have experienced?
Also couldn't your shedding and hair loss be similar to finasteride shed as your dht has been reduced to 0? I shed 100 hairs in the shower for months after starting dutasteride, why? Because the hairs that had miniaturised were kick starting growing and had to fall to regrow stronger, i believe if you did this study long-term (18 months plus) i believe the shedding would stop and any lost hair would return

I was on finasteride 1mg per day for 15 years. Then I switched to dutasteride 0.5mg per day, and my hair was almost destroyed, especially in the frontal area. But I believed it was just shedding, and I stayed on Dut for the next year. The shedding stopped, and the hair looked a lot better overall, except the frontal area. For some reason, the hair on the frontal area never could keep growing. It will grow, then break. The hair in the frontal area is much shorter than the rest. I stayed with it for another 2 years. The frontal area never improved.

I switched back to finasteride, but it seemed even worse. The frontal area is just as bad, and overall is worse. So, I switched back to Dut 0.5mg per day. The frontal area is very worrying.

I'm now considering doing Dut 0.5mg every other day. Do you think it will improve? The thing is, it will take a long time for me to see if every other day is better, so I've been afraid to try.

You aren't considering the hair cycle change due to the drops of DHt caused by Dutasride. A sudden drop or rise in DHT levels can reset the hair growth cycle so this is what you have been experiencing, a temporary shedding, just like "finasteride shedding".

Derek, I am a lean 37 year old male. I do cardio and lift weights/do calesthenics. My bioavailable test before fin was 590, and free was 75.

I got AWFUL side effects from finasteride. Even at the lowest oral or topical doses.

I got brain fog, EXTREME fatigue, low libido, ed and tender nipples and breast tissue.

Thankfully, after 4 months off finasteride, my symptoms vanished.

Your DHT could have been 4.5ng. this puts you at more than a quarter of something that would fall into the natural range. Im fact it is more dht than what someone with natty dht range levels would have if he started to take finasteride. Yet you if you discussed fin non-responsers im sure you'd seriously contemplate (if not promote) the possibly that the remaining dht is the what destroys their hair follicles.
Here on the pther hand, you don't even consider it. That is, that the remaining dht is actually enough tp destroy ypur follicles.


However, that doesn't mean that you're wrong though. I suspect you're right with your thesis that all androgens have damage potential for hair follicles they bind to, and itnis just that some are more potent than others.

Hello, I am very greatful for the video and for the information you have given. However, I have some data which may explain the continuation of your alopecia even after your DHT lvl was dropped to zero, when your testosterone lvls are over the limit. Indeed the androgenic effect is a thing, and DHT is not the only one hormon which has androgenic effect, nevertheless it is the only one which causes alopecia. I have actually managed to conduct an experiment, which proves it. The reason why you lose hair is because your DHT lvl actually is high, not a serum lvl, but a dht specifically in your scalp. I took 3 patients with genetic 5 alpha reductase enzyme and even with test over the roof, there was no signs of alopecia what so ever, even after a period of more than a year, it was not a short term thing. The same I can say about patients who were combining testosterone therapy with the dutasteride mesotherapy, when dht in their scalp was adressed directly the problem did not occur at all. While patients who took dutasteride only continued having the hairloss. The blood test results of both of them did not even managed to see DHT in their blood. So, the increase of dose of dutasteride to 2.5 mg decreased scalp DHT even further, combined with mesotherapy managed to prevent hairloss completely. Plus patients with 5 alpha reductase enzyme showed no signs of AGA even with high test. However, the test gas do be done on a bigger amount of people to say for sure
