Want to know why I hate monolithic copper projectiles? Solid copper projectiles cause much more friction in the barrel than a lead core copper jacketed projectile. Due to this you end up with higher chamber pressures for the same length of bearing surface of the projectile. And that higher chamber pressure does not necessarily translate into higher velocities.

The ONLY way I like solid copper projectiles is if they’re very short and very pointy, with a polymer jacket around them (sabot) and pushed to insane velocities at +P pressures. Doing this with 9x19 for example you can push 40gr projectiles to over 2400fps from a 5” barrel.

I've heard some manufacturers use 40 S&W loads in 10mm cartridges. Looks like S&B might be one of the culprits.

Is it that it has significantly milder recoil than the average load 10mm? If not, then it's like they made a 10mm load that no one asked for, lol.

S&B has a very tempting price, but its really nothing more than range ammo that costs more than remanufactured bulk ammo. I mean these are functional, but youre gonna pay 10MM $ so why bother.

Hmm ... well , except ... if someone had only one gun that was a 10mm for the woods , but wanted to use it for defense in a city or their home , also. I have a G20 , and I'd consider this ammo to carry for PD .

I’ve never been a fan of S&B ammo. I have used them for range ammo when I get a good deal. But I agree, they are consistent and I’ve never had feed issues.

I wasn't sure after I saw the low velocity and started weeping being a 10mm auto fan BUT these might be a really good round if you have a 10mm handgun or PCC and you happen to live in high density housing like an apartment or a duplex or a fourplex type of situation where you just CANNOT risk overpenetration. That said? NOT going to be my EDC load any time soon.

I loaded 135 gr Nosler jhps with blue dot powder, i got 1680fps.Under wood loads a solid copper 140gr @ 1650 fps

I remember getting 124gr@1290fps average from a 9mm 124gr HST +P in a 5", so there's that.

I guess if you want to claim you shoot a 10mm but can only handle the recoil of a 9mm then this cartridge is good for you... Fact is, it's appears to be a decent defensive round, but if that's adequate performance for you then why not get a 9mm?

This ammo is straight up pathetic, S&B should be ashamed of themselves. My carry ammo for my .40 S&W is loaded hotter than this stuff, that's downright EMBARASSING. I run Underwood 155 XTP's for my .40 & they're running a tad bit faster than this 130 grain crap out of essentially the same barrel length.

It’s 2024 and we still have to rely on Buffalo Bore, Underwood, or hand loading to get true 10mm.

This is poor performance for a 10mm round but would be completely adequate for self defense. You’ll probably have less recoil than a full power round. People who buy 10s usually don’t want that, but that round is still doing some absolutely devastating damage.

Why do they try to Nerf the 10 mm down so much? When it performs like a 40 ,,people could just carry a 40 It's just playing wrong to call it a 10 mm just because they dress it up like one. Some idiot must've told him that 1200 ft./s was the right velocity. They need to find somebody more qualified to give them their proper information. That stuff is about like a soft loaded 40

1300 fps from a 180g bullet is the base line for a 10mm. Smh.
