i never know what to do with my bass drum when i try to play jazz... its seems like random hits or 4 on the floor is my only option
ОтветитьMy god, this is horrible. Guys, this guy is a complete idiot.
ОтветитьHey, I would love to see more videos like this
ОтветитьWhat video is he reacting to? anyone give me the link plz?
ОтветитьI love your videos
ОтветитьA humble offering of point of view but: that "walk the dog" principle is broken by histories best jazz drummers. I've heard stilted jazz ride feels and even five note quintuplet quantised playing of the ride feel. Isn't it a feeling that is determined by either the song composition and or by the intended effect by the drummer player in that moment? Just asking and thanks for the great videos and more importantly amazing lessons which above all I appreciate most about this channel, forget any stupid debate I may offer peripherally
ОтветитьSweetness!
ОтветитьWalk the dog is from alllll the way back….not hutch….but he is one of the baddest that ever was!
ОтветитьI like jazz music because it's chill and not because of its pretentious arrogance like this douchebag

Ответитьcool video, thumbs up, but walk the dog is only for a certain speed range. Not for fast and not for ballad. And ... fatal if you start saying this on beat one .... while playing in a band :-) hahaha
ОтветитьDon't go like
1. TWO 3. FOUR
Wat da dog doing
ОтветитьThe term “ walk the dog” sound weird to me now
ОтветитьHey Zack 👋
I hope you're doing well.
Really like your videos (grooves and C H O P S).
I was wondering if you could help me with somethings...
Whenever I play 3/4 or 6/8, I usually play the snare on 3, or 4, respectively. I was wondering, what's the backbeat for those times?
one TWO three FOUR legit killed me. Thank you.
ОтветитьWalk the dog... that's brilliant. Thanks man!
ОтветитьI appreciate this, I am prog metal drummer and cannot swing :( . Teach us more jazz!

ОтветитьThanks, mate! This video helped me out with jazz drumming for gigs on zoom calls! You deserve all the gigs you can get! From the young Australian drummer.
ОтветитьKiss the cat. 🐈
ОтветитьI’m a big fan of telling people to use spang-a-lang. I find it easier to say at faster tempos and to keep the feel.
ОтветитьDo more of these please
