SHARJAH - KHORFAKKAN TUNNEL ROAD | LONGEST TUNNEL IN MIDDLE EAST

There are few journeys to be made in the UAE — where the road itself becomes the destination.

That's what we found during a road trip to Khor Fakkan on the 89-km road linking Sharjah with the Bride of the Eastern Coast.

The road is clean, smooth, wide...there are gems waiting to be discovered along the way.

The 2.7 km tunnel is the longest covered tunnel in the Middle East.

The shortest travel time to Khor Fakkan from Sharjah as per Google maps is a 108 minute drive (135km). Visitors from Dubai would need nearly two hours to reach Khor Fakkan.

The tunnel is 7.3 meters wide with double lanes on both sides, The 89 km road, which includes five tunnels.

Al Saqab tunnel - 1.4km
Al Rogh tunnel - 1.3km
Al Ghazeer tunnel - 0.9km
Al Sahah tunnel - 0.3km
