I love “one shot” fight scenes. I think modern film suffers from each punch getting a new shot, and it really hurts perception of continuity within the scene.

The amount of nit picking on the Halo just proves you are all a bunch of butthurt Halo "purists" that didn't get their way on the story line.😢 Poor little babies. The muzzle flash should be brighter!? Really? It's a show based on the Halo cannon, get over it! The show is amazing! It's up there with The Expanse, and Raised By Wolves! First season was awesome too. I'm so glad I never played the games , cause the show is great. Even if I did play the games I know I would like it cause I don't get all butthurt when a story line changes.

I don't dislike the fact that you are displaying what streaming service you are using material from. But with how they usually have time limited "availability" does it really make much sense? Maybe it's a lawyers suggestion I get it, but it perhaps doesn't feel like it has an evergreenness to it.

Society of Snow is an amazing movie. I had listened to a number of podcasts that covered the event in great detail before watching it (all using books/first-hand accounts as source material) and the authenticity the film brought was amazing and disturbing. The acting, the cinematography, the effects - amazing. I remember hearing about how people were crushed by seats behind them in the impact, and to see that visualized in the film was chilling.

You guys need to read the book they were able to see the things a lot faster than a normal human about four times faster so they were able to react a lot quicker

The Halo thing looks too dim and shaky for me to really like it. My eyes have difficulties keeping up. But I really loved the Avatar stuff! And the plane crash... Whoa. All of this feels so merciless.

Have you guys checked out the visual effects in the old Telugu movie 'Mayabazar' (1957)?
It's a classic Indian film that used some pioneering techniques for its time. Despite being made over six decades ago, the creativity and ingenuity behind its special effects are truly impressive. It would be great to see you react to how they achieved those effects with the limited technology available back then. It’s a fascinating example of early VFX work that holds a special place in Indian cinema history!

i just hate how DIM Halo is. It's not even just the muzzle flashes but like everything has just been color graded to hell

There was a 90’s movie called Alive (I think?) based on this story that I was obsessed with.

"How do we do a plane crash in a way you've never seen before? I know! Bloodless gore!"
Honestly, it doesn't scare or fill me with dread. The funny thing about a lot of scenes like that is that it's not something you would see even if you were in that scenario, because everyone on a plane is in a confined space with a seat behind, and the back of a seat in front. You wouldn't be able to see much of anything. So for the audience, it's a gory glory shot. And one I don't care about, it really takes me out of it.

I mean, they chose to stay within a compromised metal tube on a snowy mountain. Not a lot of options, sure, but anyone could imagine the worst case scenario there and know that maybe hunkering down isn't the best course.
Still, I do think that moment is more worthwhile than the bloodless gore crash.
