Still have that Dyna I see!!!! I still got mine too......and I'll never sell it!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьSome time, if you haven't already, try a k1600 series bikes.
ОтветитьTry the BMW 1600 K, it has REVERSE, adjustable windshield, floorboards and pegs it's really superior the perfect touring bike
ОтветитьI think the BMW R18 is probably the best motorcycle there is but there's 2 reasons I won't buy one
1. The cylinders are where your feet need to be
2. It's not a harley
BMW has been making the boxer engine for 100 years
If you haven't yet, try out the BMW K1600 GTL which would be a direct competitor to the Gold Wing, albeit a slightly smaller displacement. Another one you might like is the Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental.😊
ОтветитьYou actualy missed a touring segment .... THe Touring scooter . Try a Suzuki 650 /400 burgman or a Piaggio bv 400 . VERY plush ride becuse of the scooter chassis as the chassis pivots in the middle of the wheel base . Sportbike riders love touring scooters
ОтветитьI have a 2022 Indian Pursuit DH, only changes I would make is the shaft drive and add reverse.
ОтветитьBlah blah blah blah blah....exhausting and bordering on obtuse. A little goes a LONG way. I'm out.
ОтветитьNOT just Cruise, get Adaptive Cruise Control ! via a radar like on the 2024 Yamaha Tracer 9GT+, along with the most safety tech production bike in the world today. Active suspension, linked braking. The 6 axis lean angle ICU informs the ECU traction control, the ABS and suspension settings based on the approaching obstacle! Nothing does that!
Or if you are only doing long distance touring on the bike, get the BMW RT, hard to beat for comfort and the radar adaptive cruise right tech for highway speeds. Give up on retro dinosaurs cruisers that won't turn well (less safe). "Get it" like be safe, ride modern geometry bikes, looking cool, and loud is for posers... The RT has your favorite elec windshield but so much more.
Just turned 70, and riden about every bike available untill probably 2010 and nothing has compared to my current ultra glide classic but still have an 1988 true custom 1200 sportster for around town. I'm content with what i have.
ОтветитьAgree with a lot of what you said. However with any Honda I have had they are so reliable you need a dealer in every town. I also have two indians and you need to ride in pairs because one of you is going to break down. Reliability by design is just not there compaired to a Honda. They even work reliably in the rain!
ОтветитьI went from a road glide to a street glide, I find myself not as eager to ride and enjoyed the road glide more, I like both, but the wind beats you up on the street glide
Ответитьhad most harlys since riding in the 60s. last yr sold my harley got a 2016 F6B 12K miles and paid 12K for the bike and sorry I didn't get one wayyy sooner first leg 10 hrs taking from Houston driving to san Diego to put on the boat to big island. my Harleys 3 hrs im looking for a bar. 26 yrs outlaw club but I dont care if my old buddies see me. if I let em try my bike they have no more jokes. killer bike. I dont care for the new one its too fancy.
Ответить"Who puts apes on a bagger?"...hu? That's the only way to do it!
ОтветитьI have a 05 shadow 750 (sits mainly right now) and a 08 street glide. If I could afford it, I’d buy a road glide, a road king and a scout 60…lol
ОтветитьI’m thinking about starting Motorcycle camping and I wondered if I should get a regular gun or a gun that shoots pepper spray. what do you think?😊
ОтветитьCurrently on a 2022 BMW R18B. Coming from Moto Guzzi's ( shaft drive 😊) which stopped selling the California's , and other cool looking touring bikes 😢. Tried the Road Glide, Street Glide, and Road King Special, but the BMW R18 B won me over. I still have my old Guzzi, but the BMW bagger ( we're twins, except I have the Galaxy Dust color) is the most amazing bike and is my daily driver. Think my next bikes are going to be a Triumph Rocket 3, and another Guzzi ( Stelvio maybe). Like you I can't have just one. I don't even own a cager anymore. Love seeing another woman who loves to ride!
ОтветитьMy first time catching you, Jess! Nice job! As somebody who’s been riding for over 50 years on Honda, Kawasaki, many many Harleys. I can also attest to the best thing and things do happen out on the highway, are the dealerships that can help you. I had a bearing race go out in my transmission on my old Evo bagger. 7000 mile trip I was on. I literally had a month off. I limp my bike down the Costa California out of Vancouver into Ukiah California, we came in within 10 minutes. My bike was on The mount they found the bad bearing and went to a bearing company which cost me exactly $13 for the bearing I could not. And they had my bike fixed within two hours for under 500 bucks. Actually went to a barbecue and hung out with some of the guys that worked there over the weekend, that doesn’t come with many other brands?. I will be looking for more of your content. I do want to ride one of those Indians though.
ОтветитьRG's ride like a boat
Ответитьmy F6B kick ass over many many Harleys ive had. done with harley. total juke repairs costs short life low power dealership sucks if you still have one my F6B never breaks down. fast as hell 100 mph all day 48 mpg 0-60 4.4
ОтветитьI think your Road Glide looks awesome. Specially the bars. They’re awesome. My RG special has stock bars on it for two reasons. I bought it in August 2023 and I currently can’t afford a set of bars right now. Otherwise I’d damn sure put apes on it.
Love your video.
You want comfort..can am..can am..can am..either F3 L😊😊 or RT..
ОтветитьIf you want to try a 78 GL1000 that I've lightly customized, you would be welcome to. No, seriously!
ОтветитьYou should just ride your freaking dyna put a larger barn door in the front make it work, 500 pluse a day you dont get to see the country your riding through ! Slow down and see what your missing! Thats just me im still riding a 1990 hd softail second engine lots a miles
ОтветитьOnly bike she owns is the Harley...
ОтветитьHave you considered Adventure Touring bikes?
ОтветитьIn my mind there is no perfect motorcycle for a reason, variety is the spice of life. The “perfect” do it all motorcycle to me sounds like I’d get bored with it. Also, its a good excuse to have several bikes in the garage 😉
ОтветитьThe WHIM and incompatibility with common headsets with Harley infuriates me. I love my Harley, but some of their tech and proprietary stuff is really annoying.
ОтветитьI love your videos Jess! I found you by chance one day without the algorithm. You have been embarking on the dream of riding for “work” that I had 12 years ago. You are truly blessed! I have a 2014 HD Street Glide with many upgrades including the engine. It’s the most comfortable for the long touring models. Now with the S&S 124 I have more power and I won’t ride anything else! I hope one day we might meet up somewhere to share stories of the open road. Truly you are the only other female rider that also waves at cows. 😊 Cheers and keep the shiny side up! 🏍️💨
ОтветитьApe hangers are great for all the reasons you stated. Comfort is king!
ОтветитьGreat video Jess. I agree with you across all your points on the HD Road Glide and the Challenger. I own each but my heart is forever tied to the RG. There is something which is almost spiritual about the way the RG makes us feel when we go with a ride. My wife likes both for different reasons as well, she's my companion on my rides.
ОтветитьI’m old and short. I love my BMW R1200RT. It has it all.
ОтветитьAnything but a HD.
ОтветитьYou can paddle shift anytime on a Goldwing and use your engine. slowing down or speeding up. you can shift gears manually it is just smoother because it is a automatic
ОтветитьLong ago, When I bought my heritage I thought cruise control was laughable. Then I bought my Road king and I too cannot live without it now. It is very nice.
ОтветитьDid you consider one of BMW's touring bikes... the K1600 or the R1250RT? You should try one of those. I have been on the R1250RT for the last six months and will be taking it on a cross country trip at the end of this summer. Borht are big bikes and you will be more upright, but it should still be comfortable.
ОтветитьWho cares what anybody says about your handlebars. I have 14 inch bars on mine and I love them I also couldn’t care less if anyone else does or don’t.
ОтветитьMy '05 Ultra Classic (Glacial White!) was my favorite touring. Around town my '03 883 Sporster was my go-to bike. At 5'7" the Gold Wing of the time was way too tall for me. Note the word "was", not on 2-wheels for a while but as an 81 Y.O. I might get back on a midweight again.
ОтветитьBMW has a power windshield as well, might just be the full touring bike though
ОтветитьI ride ADV bikes, currently a Honda Africa Twin equipped with DCT like the Goldwing you rode. All I can say is if you spend some time on a DCT equipped Honda you soon won't want to go back to manual shift. Especially in heavy traffic and twisty back roads, the work done by the bike and relieving it form the rider is an OMG wonderful feature on a bike. In my honest opinion the DCT is as much of a god send for a bike rider as cruise control for touring and just crushing miles.
ОтветитьAnother mindless babble video!!!
ОтветитьThanks Jess! This was extremely informative and interesting. I loved the part where you took the best of each bike to make a dream bike for yourself.
ОтветитьKind of sounds like you're describing an Indian Chieftain. Although they haven't been in production as long, the reliability (at least from my observation and personal experience) is right up there with Honda.
Well... Except for shaft drive and reverse...
That cast aluminum frame on the Challenger is a game changer. The Roadmaster and Chieftain have aluminum frames also. The Roadmaster has the same technology as the Challenger, only difference is the fork mounted fairing and the air cooled 116. And like your BMW, my Roadmaster gets slot of attention. I did put reduced reach bars and seat on it so I sit more in the bike than on top of it. The bars alone were a game changer. The reduced reach put the bars two inches closer to you. That's a big help when you're trying to park it and you have to go lock to lock to do so.
ОтветитьI love Apehanger Handlebars... Jess, I think your Apehanger Handlebars look great on your Road Glide. Btw, I am installing KST KUSTOMS 16" Apehanger Handlebars on my Heritage Classic 114
ОтветитьI would be curious what you think of the Yamaha Star Venture Transcontinental or the Eluder.
One thing that doesn’t get discussed at all in touring videos is the fuel range. Do you remember and can you discuss tank to tank range between bikes? Some people stop 8x/day and that’s fine for them, but when it’s time to pound miles there’s nothing worse than hunting gas stations before 200mi.
Get a backrest for yourself! Game changer!!!°°°°😊😊😊😊😊😊😊
ОтветитьI know its older and no longer made but you should ride a Victory Cross Country. And yes I have one.
ОтветитьLove your channel! Have you tried the K1600b?
Ответить
