From Illinois here are the main reasons... Real Estate taxes are half of what they are in Illinois. The sales tax in Chicago is 10.25%. The income tax is 4.95% for personal and 7% for business. Gasoline is 4.60 a gallon in Chicago. Traffic and Parking suck. Have you ever experienced a Chicago winter (-25F and 25mph winds)? The level of corruption makes New Jersey politicos look honest. Crime is double that of Texas. In short, Texas is like heaven!

Cost of living is only $3,300 a month for one person in Texas, and 95% of the available average jobs pay maybe $2,800 month max...no benefits and they are at will employers that feel they are entitled to a 2 week notice if youl leave...it's only going to get worse.

Vote Red unless you want to see Texas turn into another Blue state failure! Higher taxes, more crime and bad schools and social services.

I’m in Ohio and the housing market here over the last 7-8 years is unlike anything I’ve ever seen. Homes that were bought for $130K in 2015 are now being sold for $590k. I’m talking about tiny, disgusting, poorly built 950 square foot shit boxes in quite mediocre neighborhoods. Then you’ve got Better, average sized homes in nicer neighborhoods that were $300K+ 10 years ago selling for $750k+ now. Wild times.

I want to move there to I love Chicago Illinois it will always be in my heart but I can’t deal with corruption and crooked politicians here.

I was born and raised in Texas! Texas is a way of life. Lived in Michigan for six month. Enrolled my daughter in school. Got a phone from her teacher saying she was bring rude and obnoxious. I asked her what my daughter said and did. Teacher said she said yes ma’am and sat down. My next question was what is rude about that. She said yes ma’am. I said Lady, that’s a sign of respect in Texas. She was showing you respect. Next day we went back to TEXAS.

They are moving to Texas because their companies relocated them. Most aren’t interested in staying, and most still vote Democrat.
Others moved to Texas because of Gavin Newsom and other democrat governors, yet they still vote Democrat.

Ah, yes, I found out why they go to Colorado soon enough. I live in the suburbs of Houston, and people, I'm here to tell you, it's like living in a frying pan all summer long. My best friend is headed to the mountains of New Mexico this summer, and heck, I may just go too. Mild weather, year-round he says. Right. Some like it hot though, and if that's you, then Houston is the right place to live. If you want cooler summers, then head out to the Davis Mountains in West Texas.

As someone who has lived in Texas their whole life, housing is no longer affordable and prices are approaching Upstate NY levels. Not only that but locals like myself are being priced out of housing and places are being gentrified beyond recognition.

We're thinking of moving to Texas from Hawaii, Hawaii has become too expensive. Looking forward to more jobs and more freedom. Just figuring out either Austin or San Antonio.

It's expensive to live here because of all the drifters moving here. I meet so many people who don't have family moving here and then move back because its too expensive to live here. You can't get an apartment unless you make 3x the rent, property taxes are 11k. Mortgage rate is like 5k a month and you have to make 3x the mortgage rate to qualify. If you listen to this person and you don't make enough, you will lose thousands of dollars quickly. The jobs out here don't pay enough to make a living. So be smart and don't move to Texas. 10 years ago it was fine to move here, now its to late. I am trying to help people from making a big financial mistake. 💯
