Great work mate. I always find progressive runs the hardest for some reason. I had a 14 mile one yesterday and always on the last progression I struggle! Im sure thats normal and i'll keep powering through
ОтветитьI love a good progression run.
Great long run video to start the week off, i saw this run on strava. 😀You're absolutely flying Andy 👍
that is what clicking on all cylinders looks like
ОтветитьGo.....Andy.....Go. Excellent run. Like. Happy monday.
ОтветитьAaah, look at you embracing uneven mileages - 23.26 miles! You’ve changed, wasn’t that long ago you’d have rounded up
ОтветитьTwo things... completely endorse that long runs should be about time on feet...I never measure my long runs but typically will build from 2 hours to 2 hours 30 as you have done. Maybe 2 hours 40 but only once!
Secondly, I'm liking the cut down from 160 gels to 100, it's a good carb compromise and will hopefully help the stomach stay settled!!!
Awesome running Andy ,mate 💯💪🏻🏃♂️👏🏻🫶🏻😊.
ОтветитьStarted my marathon training yesterday for a May race. I'm 72 and in quite good shape for an oldie. Looking at a marathon age grade table, 4hrs 16 mins is a decent time for a 70 plus runner. Ran 10 miles at 4hrs 5mins pace and my Strava recorded 15% of the run in Zone 1 and 85% Zone 2. If I've managed 10 miles in Zone 2 and under, does this mean that longer distances would be fairly easy if I stay in Zone 2? Staying with 10 milers for a month or more.
ОтветитьAmazing run. Half of us (the half who can't get his head that marathons take so long these days) totally agrees that your body only recognises intensity and time. Not distance. The other half, who loves long runs to distance no matter how long they take, would go on distance 😂
Mentally I find time much easier to deal with these days.
