Perfect timing for us, we both read the Oh Crap book trying those methods you outlined with our little one. Everything went smoothly and swimmingly in those first few days of 110% attention. Back at daycare now, we're seeing that resistance.
ОтветитьDo you have a video of best pacifiers for babies? I have a 6 week old.
ОтветитьSuch a great video! Thank you so much! Definitely makes potty training feel less overwhelming.
ОтветитьWhy not starting introducing the potty once they can sit properly? I started from 1 year old. I put him on the potty from time to time, while we read a book and have fun. Sometimes he goes, sometimes he doesn't. But still so many diapers are saved and don't pollute the planet. Once he will be able to warn me in time, I will fully potty train. But at that time, he won't be shocked by a sudden change. He will already know the potty what is for.
ОтветитьI love you both. You are awesome.
ОтветитьMy two and a half has been ready and he’s communicating really well but he’s been holding his pee or poop ALL DAY and I’m really desperate. Please help
ОтветитьThese potty training vids are sooooo helpful!
ОтветитьWhat to do if he is affraid of sitting on the potty? My 19mo is evidently ready (even started to use a tub as potty 😅), but we can not convince him to sit on one.
ОтветитьDo you have any tips for naked time in a fully carpeted apartment?
Ответитьi can't take this speaking volume lol
ОтветитьTips for naked phase and mealtimes?
ОтветитьMy daughter just turned 3 and started to show interest in using/say that she needed to use the potty at about 18 months and had success most nights before bed. Then she started to get really resistant to where she would not go near the toilet or her little potty. It became a real struggle, because we are both strong willed and pigheaded😂. Our pediatrician suggested leaving it alone and reintroducing a couple months later at her 3 year checkup. My daughter actually brought it up and started using the potty again a bit. She’ll use it like a pro at Grandma’s house, but at home we’re locked in the power struggle again. I don’t know who’s got more anxiety about it, me or her. If anyone’s got any tips, I’d love to hear them. We’re even doing prizes every time she uses the toilet successfully, and that’s not motivating her anymore, either.
ОтветитьDo we still look for the same cues if a child is developmentally delayed?
ОтветитьSarah, do you have a tongue tie? My daughter had one, and I didn't want to get it released unnecessarily...but she was having trouble transferring milk. So ultimately it was needed.
ОтветитьIs there a way to train them without them being naked? I don’t really want to do it that way. What is the alternative method? Pull ups? Any advice would be much appreciated! 🙏🏼
ОтветитьQuestion/Wondering if anyone else has dealt with this: My daughter is 2.5 and probably since she was 1.5 she would poop only when given a glass of milk before nap/bed time and never without it. Here recently she has started to poop without milk specifically but still only while eating lunch/snack. It's very odd to me and I mentioned it to the pediatrician who has never heard of any kid doing that before. I'm not sure if this would be helpful or detrimental to potty training, but I'm tired of the diapers so I will see how it goes.
Thanks for the great video!
In our experience the 3-day method (or kick off as described here) was way too much pressure for our first born. I will never do that kind of thing again. It worked a lot better when we just let potty training integrate with our normal lives, like bringing their potty with us to the library or park. We had a lot of accidents for about 6 months. I think temperament is way too often left out of the conversation. I also think, while it makes sense our grandparents were trained before 1, there have been cultural shifts in approaches to childhood that make it more complicated than just aiming for a goal that worked in the 30s. I'm doing elimination communication with my second which has been really great and I'm hopeful it will make the overall process easier this time.
ОтветитьCan you also add information on when or what to do when 6 or 7 year old still wets the bed at night! This would be very helpful. Thank you 🇦🇺💙💕 boy unsure if there is a difference between girls and boys?
ОтветитьSuch a helpful video! My son just turned 3 with a mild speech delay. Potty training is so much harder than I expected.
ОтветитьMy 19months old has been showing some sign that she has to go (specifically for #2). I really want to start potty trained her very soon but I’m feeling more anxious to start. Watching this video helps. Thank you for sharing!
ОтветитьYou guys look so sleepy
ОтветитьAny advice training speech delayed kiddos? My toddler is 2.5 and has great comprehension skills which makes me feel like he is ready and could understand the process, but I worry his speech delay will be a big barrier. Any suggestions would be so appreciated!
ОтветитьCan you please touch on how long each phase lasted for you? Amazing video! Our girls are 4 months and 18 months so we are ready to get one out of diapers 😊
ОтветитьI have a 25 month old and I’m ready! Thank you both.
Glad you are back!
Do you think this method will still work for a no verbal toddler? Our little boy just turned 3 & we casually put him on the potty to create a habit but I don’t think he gets it yet. Also he can’t verbally tell us if he has to go so we plan on using gestures or pictures
ОтветитьYour last video encouraged us to potty train our 2.5 year old this past Monday when we were all off of school/work! Thank you!!!!
ОтветитьThis is such a helpful video. I especially appreciate the detailed explanations of why to do things in a certain way (e.g., the naked phase so the child can realize what’s happening and make the necessary connection) as well as the description of your own experience. Thank you!
ОтветитьTell me you’re trying to be quiet while the kids are napping without telling me 😂
ОтветитьSo extremely useful! I’m gonna watch again with a notebook to take notes! 😅 📝
ОтветитьHow do you teach a boy to pee vs #2? Both sitting? Or stand to pee, sit for #2?
ОтветитьAny advice for stool withholding? I tried to potty training my 2.5 year old, he was doing amazing at peeing on the potty but started stool withholding. It got so bad that he ended up asking for his pull-ups again and we've regressed completely but his stool withholding is still really bad to the point he will scream and try to hang upside down off the sofa to prevent going. He used to open his bowel 1-2 times a day before attempting potty training and now he goes every 3-4 days still in his pull up and he seems very distressed every time.
ОтветитьMy 24mo old will hold his poop till bed time. I haven’t seen him go for number 2 in so long. When we sleep together he will not poop for 2-3 days until he gets his privacy at bedtime or sometimes nap time. Not sure how to catch him & his cues. Otherwise he is now going to the potty for pee, he doesn’t ever ask me to go, I just bring him every hour and if we’re home, we can have days of zero accidents.
ОтветитьThese videos are perfectly timed for our family! We loved your videos when we had our first and rewatched a lot of them preparing for our second. You guys are amazing and I appreciate the content you create so much! Thank you!!
ОтветитьSo happy to see you all back, I LOVE this channel so so much!!

ОтветитьPerfect!!! Doing it now with my twins. 2 word phrases at 18 mo sounds so advanced 😭 lol
ОтветитьMy baby is turning 12 months this weekend. Perfect timing to start learning about this!
ОтветитьMy kids are the same ages as yours but I’m worried that my 17 month old is going to be potty trained before my 3.5 year old. I’m always looking for potty training tips
Ответитьperrrrffeeect timing for me too!!!! I recognize the whispering (baby is asleep next door I bet) LOL
