I get the whole "get out there and do it" mentality, but is it fair to say that might not work for everyone? I'm giving myself six months to get everything in order. I mean, I'm an established low-income guy and it's just not feasible to make such a big change quickly. Sure, take the dive but learn to swim first imo. I don't want to plan to fail, but damn I really need to know I won't be homeless if there isn't any income for a couple months.

You know Bryan, just a little more than a month ago I entered the industry and did most of the things you taught. I.E Screw perfecting the script, just call the client and experience will teach you, pick up the damn phone and dial. Never stop doing what's necessary and follow the system you believe will work, objection handling and many many more little things. After 5-6 weeks in I finally got my very first booking for a new development and it was a HUGE confidence and morale boost. Fuck yea buddy you're sharing valuable information to give that little kick to keep me going and improve as I progress.
