I get worried eating carb heavy meals at night even with a run the next morning. Just feel guilty and worried about fat gain but know it’s limiting me. I’m relatively new to running about 5 months now. I seem to hit a bit of a fatigue wall around 8km. Usually run in the morning and have a milky coffee before I set off
ОтветитьDude this is such down to Earth simple food, even if you switch the bagel for oatmeal you mentioned, still. So you say you have ice cream if you want to, I'm sure that having simple carbs like that from time to time won't ruin your health (especially at this calorie expenditure), but aren't you feeling bad after eating the stuff?

ОтветитьOne thing that's common about elite distance runners is that despite running 100+ mpw, they still eat WAY less than the average American, whether it's because they restrict themselves to stay lean or they just don't feel hungry for whatever reason. Contrary to popular belief, the elite don't stay lean because they have high metabolism or because they just run a lot. They are watching what they eat. Don't let anyone tell you that you can eat whatever you want if you are trying to reach your potential as an athlete. Fuel the engine, but in healthy, controlled ways.
