Are DRP/VERA who go out 9/30/25 still get the FERS supplement?

They say most US dont care about fed workers ..that there's only 2 million olus, so thay say thats not very many people compared to the rest of the US private sector, so nobody will even know how this bill will affect us ...they said on news that the rest of the US wont even know about us losing our benefits

Stop talking about the high-5. For the average retiree that's between $1500 and $3000 per year. The annuity supplement is the big one. That can be $20-$30K per year and for those of us being pushed out through Doge and other actions, this is a gut punch. Not a single amendment from a Democrat to protect the federal worker or push the date back on any of these cuts. The only amendment was from Comer to push back the date on the high 5. All these dates should be pushed back to allow DRP candidates to retire with full benefits.

All of these people are Federal Employees! All of these changes they are voting for better effect them too!! If not, this is simply criminal. No one will come work for the government - do they get that? Maybe they just really don’t care.

I have taken less pay for 36 years working for postal service, for them to change the game so close to the end is horrible! I understand we need to save but not this way, new employees should be the way so people have a choice. Can we sue?

If you want to go ahead and retire (17 May) so you can receive the supplement. When will the bill land on the president's desk for signature.

Total disrespect after 36 years of federal and military service. I don't hear Congress volunteering to reduce their retirement pay and benefits, which they get after only one term in the House or Senate. Anyone who goes to work for the federal government now is a total nutcase! We are offering a DRP (severance package) with VERA at the end. Do the math and determine if is the best value for you based on your high-3 and soc sec supplement. Congrats, you signed the paperwork and signed out on admin leave until 30 Sep (retirement date). Our bad, you will need to recompute your high-3 to a high-5 now while you are on DRP and you are not grandfathered. Oh, and we need to cancel your soc sec supplement when you turn 62. Oh, we need to increase how much we take out for FERS retirement to 4.4% while you are on DRP.

Look people... "Grandfathering in" current employees won't save any money for many years... i.e. long after this administration is gone. Do you think they care if someone retiring 20 years from now gets a reduced pension? They want immediate cost savings. Those of you under 62 who signed up for DRP best retire pronto... September 30th will be too late. Case closed.

So the proposed legislation by this committee has been advanced to the larger house budget committee. When will these items be next debated by the larger committee. Also, is it true that it was not amended so the supplement elimination will happen upon passage and the 5 year average for pension computation will occur after Jan 1 2027?

Another smack in the face for federal employees. Add to that it appears that they are ready to sign a federal employee freeze pay for 2026...they want to force out the federal workforce to a skeleton crew. I see a repeat of the Obama administration where there was at least 2 years of pay freezes on the horizon. It is funny they keep comparing federal retirement benefit costs against the private sector...what they don't mention is the higher standards and laws federal employees are subject to compared to the civlian sector. Mr. Lynch, I applaud your support and in defending the federal employee! Mr. Lynch hit the nail on the head...they want to cut our FER pensions yet federal employees make 25% less than our civilian counterparts!

I have 40 years of federal service. I feel so betrayed. After all the years of my life I have given to the federal government and to get treated like this. This is very sad! I don’t understand why they hate the civil service employees so bad. The military can’t do everything. I hope to retire soon and I hate to feel like I’m being forced out just so I will have money to live on.

The Fed employees all blew it when they refused to return to work once Trump became President. Maybe it was a genius move on his part knowing that he would be able to gut the FERS system once America saw how entitled Fed employees actually are and that is what is taking place now.

So we are trillions in debt. So we are looking under the seat cushions for money. Stop abusing the workers. Comparing which private sector? How about Senate and House retirement benefits? The workers get the blame for decades of missing money. 911 trillions missing on 9/10. Then the towers fell. Nothing to see here.
