Actually, judging by the context (Isaiah 14:2) in Isaiah 14:12, the bible was referring to the dynasties of the kings of Babylon, sarcastically comparing them to the devil, who wanted to be like God, and then became devoid of spiritual light, (later being cast down from heaven). Using Chatgpt I actually found they kept the term Lucifer (a latin word) in Isaiah but removed it from two other verses. In total Lucifer was used 3 times in the latin Vulgate. And obviously they would remove it from the other two verses becaue it uses Lucifer in a positive manner.

But I must disagree on your perspective of Satan/Lucifer. While they may not be interchangeable in all of the uses of the word, there is a consistent dark presence that Lords over man in a cruel way.
Who else would build a prison around their own planet and poison its entire population with repeated atomic tests, biological weapons and tainted food?
This is not just the heart of man being wicked, there is clearly a concerted group that like their father, works in deception and lies.
