This is a reaction/comparison (and for Cilla Black a review) video of Cilla Black and Daryl Braithwaite performing the song "You're My World". Cilla recorded the original english language version in 1964 and released it as a single. The song went straight to number 1 on the UK singles chart. Her version is very dynamic vocally but simplistic instrumentally. Cilla puts her heart and soul into the refrain of the song. Daryl is the singer for the Australian group Sherbet and recorded "You're My World" as his first solo outing. Released as a single in Australia in late 1974, it took the number 1 spot on the Aussie singles chart for the first 3 weeks of 1975. Daryl's version is more melodic and subdued. The backing track is a large part of the song with piano, wah-wah guitar, drums, swirling keyboards and heavy strings especially in the refrain. Sit back and listen to the differences and enjoy ...
