Why does Escort make more than one radar detector

I have the Tesla Model Y back window is so small do you think that if a radar is shot at my car from the back to my radar detector and ,
not hitting directly into my uniden R3, do you think my radar detector will go off anyway? Not sure how the radar gun and the radar detector works in the event that a cop shoots my car from the back. Sorry if this is a dumb question

These are a waste of money too many false warnings even with the super pricey ones and you can still get a ticket if the cop is not using radar gun. Waze has warned me about cops a lot more accurately.

So which one is the best at helping me not get a speeding ticket?

I'm having massive issues with the Escort Maxcam 360. I was super excited about having a radar and camera but after 3 months it stop responding and sometimes it won't even turn on at all.

In Australia, these are illegal. The idea is that having a radar detector would make you a safer more alert driver which means less tickets or revenue for the local government. Instead, the Aussie cops uses a radar behind trees and bushes and install speed cameras everywhere because they save lives. That's what they tell us here anyways.

Why don’t they make a wireless Detectors I hate the wire running over the dashboard.

Can someone tell me which one of these can NOT be detected by RDD?? I really want the uniden R8 but apparently it’s not undetectable?

My 10 year old Valentine1 is still saving my bacon daily but was curious about the new one. Pretty, but $600.... umm no. As for Escort, wow the wifi mess, need to use THEIR GPS app... talk about slurping all your data up for re-sell! It now looks like they're the Google of radar detectors - hard pass. My old Escort was never as good as the Valentine anyway - it literally picks up K miles ahead.

Question is do they work to warn about up coming speed cameras…????!

I had no idea in 2024 that radar detectors were still a thing!  
In order for cops to write a speeding ticket in Texas (not an absolute speed law state) they have to articulate why it was unsafe or unreasonable for you to be traveling at that speed on your citation (given weather conditions, time of day, other traffic, number of pedestrians in the area, etc.). Additionally, the radar or the lidar is a secondary verification, they must visually track your vehicle (with a tested and documented +/- 3mph) during training.

I hope Escort will bring that Function Auto Volume sensing feature back like we had on 9500ix, I like some times quite and forget to volume up my detector when I listen loud music.

any new setting updates for the Uniden R8 for Maryland

I updated my redline 360c’s firmware yesterday and now there’s no audio alerts, random Ka false alerts, and the screen will crash and go black for a second and drop Bluetooth connection whenever there’s a full strength signal. Any idea what I can do to fix this before I throw it out the window?? Can’t keep my eyes on the detector while driving to wait to see it go off 😂

Not cool with how it has to have 24/7 tracking for no good reason other than sell it to the date of brokers. What would be the current next best thing? No matter what brand, I'm not brand loyal. Newbie here. Do you know shat type of speed camera and radar is used in Denmark and what is the best radar detector to spot them? Biggest issue in Denmark is the mobile speed cameras on back of vans and sometimes undercover police radars.

Does R8 have setings for metric km/h?

I purchased a V1Gen2 and mailed to a mid point of my 5000 mile trip about a month ago after I got a speeding citation of 94mph at 80 mph zone. I thought I was going at 87 mph.
I have set up with a JBV1 with the posted speeds+ to A and below that to L. This set up has been easy to live without unwanted alerts.

As of July which would you recommend? Uniden R8 or redline escort 360c ?

Just curious... How does any of these detectors prevent tickets with instant-on radar other than just letting you know that you have a ticket?

Hey Vortex, great video!! I always come back to your videos when I need help. My car got broken into and my V1G2 got stolen, I’m trying to replace it but weighing my options.

I liked the detector itself, but I don’t like the app abilities it offered. I have CarPlay but the escort integration seems like a hassle. The R7/8 might be my choice. Any reason for or against that?

I value the GPS mute and didn’t like I had to get V1Driver to get it on the Valentine, but I liked the directional arrows to tell me where a bogey is. Too many options to weigh…

Aaah, so the Apple Car Play is what will allow me to have the detector on my Pioneer AVIC-8600NEX.

so if you plug in your uniden for 1.46, and i download it to my PC, does it automatically get installed to my radar? or do i have to transfer it to it somehow through my PC settings (windows)

I bought an R8 two weeks ago. It stopped booting up past the Laser display yesterday. Buttons wouldn’t work, would also not connect to my computer at all.
Had the latest update from Uniden’s site.
Contacted Uniden support and they wanted me to fill out a fillable form, print it out and mail the form and the R8 back to them for repair - at my expense.
Seriously? Absolutely poor customer service.
I have returned it to Amazon for a refund and am looking for an alternate detector based on the early failure and abysmal customer service.
Buyer beware.

In 2024 who the FK is using K band anymore? Maybe 5% of legitimate threats.

I am so torn between R8 and V1G2. I want something that's full stealth, but not being able to do photo radar detection seems like a huge trade off. What does everyone else think?
