I own the Ora’s and the sub. Unbelievable sound from such a small desktop speaker.
ОтветитьGreat video. Thank you so much. Think I'll go for the regular ORAs.
ОтветитьVery nice video. I already own the Swan OS 10, is it worth it to get the original iloud micro monitors as the upgrade or would the Kanto ORA originals be the better upgrade? Both will probably have weaker bass than the Swans or am I wrong?
ОтветитьI lovvve your reviews man, keep them coming, maybe even expand to other product categories. Small note I'd say is, considering including a tiny bit more b roll, close ups of the item/feature you're describing, and b roll of the other alternatives you're mentioning.
ОтветитьYU4 vs ORA4, In terms of clarity, which would you say is punchier, goes lower? Does the EQ allow for punchier bass?
ОтветитьI loud are amazing
ОтветитьAt nearfield distances, I wonder if the lower crossover makes them blend better with a subwoofer. But if you just don't have the space for the 4, this is a moot point.
ОтветитьThanks for this great review. I’ve now watched all your videos and subscribed.
I’m looking for new speakers for my office (not home office). My use case is 4 hours of Zoom calls and 3 hours of background music at volumes low enough to not be heard in neighboring offices.
I’m leaning towards the original Ora over the Ora 4 based on other reviews about how they sound at lower volumes. Is this what you would choose for me?
Thanks again for the great review.
Which is the active speaker - left or right?
You've put out one of the best speaker reviews I've ever seen. Went informative, thank you so much for the content. 👌🏻
Just wish the ora 4 came in colour options like the original good informed video thnx
ОтветитьIm happy I went with Kanto Ora 4 instead of the original, it looks better and it sounds like its not trying too hard unlike Ora. Also it has better bass, I just can't feel the thump with the smaller ones.
Ответитьinvest in soft box lights to make your video visually pop bro, it will make it appeal more!
ОтветитьLooks like Edifiers with Kanto stands is the winning combo unless you plan to use a sub.
ОтветитьFor computer speakers, are the ORA4 the best out there in this price point right now? I saw your older comparison video, but wanted to confirm before pulling the trigger. Coming from a Klipsch Promedia 2.1 that served me exceptionally well for over a decade, I'm excited to hear more premium sound.
ОтветитьYou make great content man. I know it will be hard to get the channel to start hitting it off, but I think you absolutely have what it takes in this space. If it's an interest to you, I think headphones is a great avenue for content though. Most people use headphones these days and I've personally not found a channel I trust since JimsReviewRoom quit YT a few years back.
ОтветитьDoes it matter if the master speaker is on the left or the right?
Thanks!
I have the original Ora speakers. They are great and even though they are a bit pricy they are worth it. Those new ora 4s look way too big for computer speakers. If you are into pc gaming/work flow you will have either ultra wide screen or duel monitor. The 4s look way way too large to accommodate the real estate on your desk for those monitors. These things look like they are more of a bookshelf speaker for a sound system for your tv/stereo. At this point you may as well save up and get the RENs.
Ответитьkanto ora vs bose max which has better sound quality and bass?
Ответитьthank you for your informative guide. You helped me to decide to buy ORA4 instead of YU4 :D
ОтветитьWow, you're amazing at reviewing speakers. You have a way of speaking that feels real and natural. You also touch on all the points a buyer would care about. I trust you more than any other speaker reviewer out there. Please keep doing what you're doing! You've gained a loyal subscriber!
ОтветитьThank you for the content and guidance. I own an Audio Engine A2+ since 2020, and I've been eyeing the HS5's for a long time, for my general media consumption usage. You saved me from making that mistake. I'll definitely be buying end of this year. Please update your links when the white Ora 4 comes to Amazon. Good luck with your channel!
ОтветитьI keep seeing the Edifier M60's and still havent pulled the trigger on the Kanto ORA. If you get a chance to get your hands on these, I would love a comparison.
ОтветитьHeyy man i just wanted to personally, thank you. I have watched a lot of your video trying to make a decision on buying a speaker. And I made the decision with this one for Ora 4, and they are fantastic! I really appreciate the way you do your reviews and how you try your best to give accurate description, such as mentioning the Ora 4 are more bassy, and that was absolutely on point!
ОтветитьA good sub make the bass fuller, not necessary louder.
ОтветитьHow do these compare to the KEF LFX II
ОтветитьHey Jasper I'm really torn. I literally have just under 5" of shelf space to hold speakers. They could float off the shelf a little bit if I got a smaller stand then the speaker before I run up against my PC. My speakers would be a few inches off the wall on one side and a window on the other side of my 32" monitor in a 10'x13" room. Listening would pretty much be near field only. I may be moving into an appartment/townhouse in the near future so to much bass could be an issue. I dont really listen to any rap/hip-hop but want a good full range of sound. My only experience with speakers is a PC set of Harmon Kardon 20+ years ago, then some old Logitech 2.1 and finally I inherited a Bose Companion 3 Series 2 (itty bitty 2 inch drives and a 5.5inch sub), these sound alright to me but they are old and starting to crap out, I think the sub might even be broken. The other day for comparison I tested them againt a Creative Stage soundbar and my Bose still sounded way better. So needless to say, I need to upgrade. My PC or TV setup have all the latest connection options including optical. For size I'm torn between the Vanatoo TOs+, the Kanto Ora4 and the Kanto Ora Original, I'd like the option to add a sub if only just to be able to turn the bass down if it is too much. I like the Edifiers for price r1280DBs but they are a smidge to big without adding a shelf on top of my shelf to extend it. The Vanatoo and the Ora4 have 24bit and aluminum woofers where the Ora Original is 16bit paper woofers (I saw a review that said paper sounded nicer than aluminumn). I'm no audiofile, I just want something that sounds better than the Bose with no static or tin can sound. In $CAD Vanatoo is $575 (best looking/wood/grill/silver, all the bells and whistles), Ora4 is $500, Ora Original is $400 (perfect size), Edifier is $200 plus a shelf extension, Swan OS-10 is $250 (but no sub connection). I haven't heard any of these speakers IRL, have you ever heard the small Bose speakers? Please help me decide. Is the Edifier craze just hype? Is the 16bit Ora good enough? There are very few reviews of Kanto on Amazon and Vanatoo I would have to order from their site, probably in the US. Thanks for your help. Oops forgot to mention, for music mainly, gaming and movies but I also have headsets, but for music I like to be free and turn it up and sing! No content creation or studio monitor stuff required. Also considering the Kanto Sub6 over the Sub8 for size reasons. Thanks for your help. One more thing, woukd the ora4 fit on the stands meant for the smaller Ora, that way the stand would still fit on my shelf with the speaker floating off the edge.
ОтветитьGreat content. I am looking speakers to my sim racing pc, and your videos keep coming up no matter what i search, keep on keepin on.
ОтветитьWhat do you think is better, the ORAs + the Sub8, or the ORS 4s?
ОтветитьHello man. You should do real premium pc speakers review like Genelec, Neumann and Dynaudio. All 3 are considered best for music production and video sound production on PC. Especially target for Genelec 8361 AW. They are huge and wonderfull. You will like those if you get them.
ОтветитьHey Jasper, when you disconnect the speakers from your computer, do you turn them off first? I use laptops and need to disconnect/connect constantly, there's always a popping noise with my Kanto speaker
ОтветитьEdifier M60
ОтветитьAppreciate your reviews! Bought the Kanto Ora recently and they are amazing! Great purchase for my desktop.
ОтветитьFantastic video! Exactly what I was looking for. One thing that would be helpful is just a quick size comparison when comparing speakers. Exact measurements aren't needed but some b-roll to show the differences in height, width, and depth would be great.
ОтветитьI was trying to decide between the swans os-10 and the fluance ai41 but these look really appealing too. For the price it’s it worth it over the swans? Or is the swans hard to beat at 170$?
ОтветитьI have been listening to Kanto Ora and Ora4 today. Many different music genres, constantly switching between them. They are sitting on my desktop, tilted up, next to each other. Changing their positions, swapping them. No sub. The signature is very similar, to my ears they sound a tiny bit on a warmer side, I like it. However there is a difference and not just the Ora4 being able to hit a bit lower and louder but in a few more aspects as well. The didferences are subtle, but easily noticeable.
• the Ora4 sounds just a little bit more V shaped, even the highs are brighter, not by much, but still there,
• the original Ora sounds a bit warmer. However both of them are warm, just a right amount, easy to listen to.
• the Ora4 have a bigger soundstage and they sound more open and clear. The voices are easier to understand. Original Ora sounds a little bit more veiled.
• the original Ora has more forward mids, stronger emphasis on voices.. Not clearer, but a little more pronounced.
• Original Ora have a little bit more resonance, what I mean is the voices can be less clear I am repeating my self, but I need to emphasize that these differences are really VERY subtle. I was paying a lot of attention to pick up the nuances. I have a Kanto Sub8 on the way and will compare them with it as well. I am trying to find out if Ora4 would still sound better when with the Sub .
Just the speakers without a sub and enough space on the desk? Definitely Ora4, especially when the price difference is only about 15%. $350 vs $400. Ora4 without a sub has enough bass for most casual desktop listeners. Original Ora, obviously don’t hit as low, but for its compact size, they sound great. Still plenty of bass for most situations, even without a sub. So, to conclude. To my ears Ora4 sound better. I would say maybe 5-8% better? 😆 They are clearer, less veiled, louder, with more definition, less congested. If you already have the Original Ora, it isn’t really worth it to get Ora4. But if you are deciding which ones to get, and can fit the larger speakers on the desk, go Ora4. If not, the Original Ora is still a great speaker and one of the best, if not the best in its size.
like for the jokes alone :)
ОтветитьGreat review but based on your style i cant help but thinking you are paid by kanto to make these reviews. Can you without a doubt say that you are not affiliated with the company Kanto at all?
Ответить"you can do a lot with an extra inch believe it or not" ... thats only true i
f your are missing a sufficient amount of inches in the first place" :-p
Excellent content sir...this may be a dumb comment but we have 2 jbl charge 5s we use in stereo mode outside but we listen a lot inside so hoping active speakers will sound better?
Thanks much
i want a desktop set up, looking at Kanto ORA or the transparent zero plus, any suggestions?
ОтветитьI have a 2 pc setup and want to hear both computers audio at the same time with the Kanto ORA 4 is this possible?
ОтветитьORA 4 VS KALI LP UNF 4 OPINIONS ?
ОтветитьGreat review! Does the matte black ORA4 have a difference in texture than the matte white?
ОтветитьQuick question for the originals! Do you forsee me being able to switch between a desktop and an Xbox console rather seamlessly? Maybe by connecting to the pc via Bluetooth and then the console via USB C? Just something I'm hoping to do with the next pair of speakers I buy! Thanks for the help.
ОтветитьI just bought a set for my son. He was looking for a gaming audio system that would double as monitors for music. These seemed to find the sweet spot
ОтветитьLiked and Subscribed. These are *exactly* the speakers I'm debating over, including the the Fluance Ai41. My set up is Mac Mini and PS5 hooked up to LGC3 42" at my desk. The LG has HDMI ARC, Optical, and 3.5mm outs. Currently using a Klipsch Pro Media 2.1 BT system via 3.5mm (lots of white noise when no content is being played - main reason for the upgrade). If I get the ORAs (OG or 4) would you recommend I purchase an optical to USB-C cable and run said cable from the LG to the speakers? Or would it be better to run a 3.5mm to L/R RCA cable? I'm planning to add a sub in the future and my use case scenario is YTMusic, YT Vids, web surfing and PS5 gaming. Loving the content and delivery. Thanks!
ОтветитьHey Jasper, love the videos! Quick question though:
Do the ora4s have a sleep/standby mode? I was reading reviews on Amazon and someone said it was always at full power if you dont turn them off and if you do turn them off, you have to cycle to your specific input every time. Do these go into automatic standby after a little while like the YU series?
Hi Jasper, thanks for the in depth review. I just received my kanto ora4 and set them up.
I immediately noticed the difference from my previous speakers (mackie cr3). It sounded somehow worse to my ears, I think it’s what you said about them being neutral/flat.
I don’t do any recording, only listening to music and computer games.
Would you recommend these for someone like me? Should I go go something more “full/colorful”? If so, which ones?
Thanks!
