Just plain surreal to watch this now. After an entire lifetime of futility, it doesn't matter anymore. They did it. It's just bizarre to look back at the old mindset.
ОтветитьtHE MOST LOYAL FANS!
ОтветитьNow you're just another team with 3 titles in over 100 years. The Yankees are back! Soon you will all be Judged!
ОтветитьI never liked the Cubs but this documentary was great and I even cheered when they won it all in 2016
ОтветитьI'm a Cardinal fan, but those in charge of the baseball Hall of Fame should be ashamed of themselves for waiting until Ron Santo had passed before putting him into the Hall of Fame
ОтветитьThank you so much for uploading. I've been looking for this doc since it originally aired on hbo.😀😀😀
ОтветитьHe was definitely going to catch the foul ball
ОтветитьPadre pieces of s... still don't have a world's championship
ОтветитьOmg I remember watching and recording this thanks for the memories and we did it!
ОтветитьThe cubs are the Yankees of baseball ??? Hahahahahahaha
ОтветитьBob Beck didn’t make it to see his Cubbies win it all 😭
ОтветитьThe Curse still lives: 110 years and counting. *sigh*. Being a Cubs fan is tough.
ОтветитьI’m really proud to be a Cubs fan since 2015!!!!❤️
ОтветитьSo sad people giving so much of their time to sports.
ОтветитьToo much day baseball was the actual curse to the Cubs. Since 2015, the Cubs have had four 90 + win seasons in a row with a WS Championship because they play more night games at home.
ОтветитьThey're lucky they didn't buy themselves another 100 years with how they treated Bartman in 2003
ОтветитьCan you imagine if Steinbrenner had bought the Cubs instead of the Yankees?
ОтветитьDid Bob Beck ever get to see the Cubs be champs in 2016?
ОтветитьUnfortunately no...he passed away in Sept 2012 at the age of 91...4 years before his beloved Cubs finally ended the long drought and won the WS in a great comeback over the Indians...However, if there is a heaven, he was celebrating there for sure lol.
ОтветитьWe watched this in class when I was fifth grade. Total nostalgia thank you for posting
ОтветитьOld fashioned innocent Americana. People being People. Embracing youth and enjoying their lives. You guys are awesome! I'd love to have a beer with a bleacher bum.
ОтветитьBill, you are awesome! Walking for Ron Santo's legs was incredible! You sir are a hero!
Ответить10 years before “Next Year” finally came to The North Side of Chicago!
ОтветитьI wis they did an update on Wait TIL NEXT YEAR
ОтветитьU missed sosa in the description but go on
ОтветитьI was Alive to see the Cubs, White Sox and Red Sox all Win the World Series and I don't root for any of them lol I feel bad for fans who never got to see their team win at least one time before they die.
ОтветитьAlthough the curse has since been broken, if you really think about it I don't think it was the billy goat that truly cursed the Cubs' franchise. It was Fred Merkle's boner. (yes that's what it was called) Look it up. The cubs basically stole the pennant from the Giants, haunted this young man for the rest of his life, and he took it to his grave with him. It happened in 1908. Scarring someone for life may cast a dark shadow on your franchise for a while.
Just think about it.
I was at opening day in '69 when Willie Smith hit a home run to win the game. Also went to Billy Williams Day later that summer when the Cubs swept a double header. I sat behind the dugout and hung out over the dugout and congratulated players after they scored. It was a great summer. I was lucky.
ОтветитьLook at the world just 15 years ago. So much more joy and happiness.
ОтветитьIt's still hard to watch what happened to the 2003 Cubs and the events that followed. I ended up working in the Bleachers from 2005-2008. 2007-08 were good years. 2008 was the year until the bats stop hitting. The Cubs were the number 1 team in 2008. I worked 1 playoff game on Wednesday October 1st 2008 because I got very sick. Yeah, I felt like I was cursed too. This is true. The Dodgers came in and swept us in 3 games just as Arizona did the year before. They weren't hitting. Then in 2016 that all changed. Now they can't hit in September and October again. 2008 they could have done it with that team
ОтветитьAlou overreacted like a baby without his bottle
Bartman I hope you’re happy beyond belief
(D.Farrina we miss you )
Think in 1984 the bulls just drafted Michael Jordan and the bears were on way to winning the division setting the stage for their 1985 season
ОтветитьI have been a Yankees fan my whole life, raised in New York, but I was born in Chicago, so I do have a huge soft spot in my heart for the Cubbies!! Too bad some of the people in this great documentary missed 2016, but much like when Bill Buckner was forgiving by the RedSox after 2007, the fact that anyone knows Steve Bartmans name, is just cruel irony! Steve Bartman never deserved the backlash that was put onto him, much like Buckner in Boston
ОтветитьEven tho I’m a Yankees fan I’m so glad that this curse is finally dead but even though this drought has been ended, it feels as if we are going to have to wait another 108 years to see this team win again or is that just me
ОтветитьAs a Knicks fan, Man I really feel there pain, even thought the Knicks are in a different sport, I swear everyone loves to compare us to the Cubs when the cubbies have suffered way worse
ОтветитьBeing in Chicago during the summer of 69 must have been incredible.
ОтветитьI hope that bob guy got to see the cubs finally win it
ОтветитьJeff Garlin is a cubs fan?
I thought he was a Phillies fan through and through
What about 1989? That was my favorite Cubs summer.
Ответитьhope some of the older fans made it to 2016!
Ответитьluckily Chicago had the 85 Bears, Michael Jordan, and the Hawks dynasty to hold em over til the Cubs won.
ОтветитьWhy does the 1989 team get ignored? I get nothing dramatic happened but they were at least worth a mention imo
ОтветитьCannot emphasize enough, I HATE STEVE GARVEY!!!! That hurt more then 2003.
ОтветитьBob Walking from Arizona to Illinois is nothing short of incredible.
ОтветитьFirst of all WHO gives a guy with no job a credit card?? I am glad they finally won a WS but the 108 years were a punishment from God for the Bartman ordeal!!!
ОтветитьThe fans didn’t do it… The cubs collapsing is what ended the season
Ответить
