U know infinity doesnt exist, it is concept we human invented to make sense of this universe, like God

This might sound stupid, but this made me slightly teary. I went through a period of realization over the summer— and it gave me the strangest combination of vivid enlightenment and abject sadness. It felt like infinity ‘imposed’ me from all directions— and really trying to fathom spatial or temporal infinity blew me away to the point of fear.

The real question is: Is it even possible?

Our failure to comprehend infinity is not a failure of math, there is nothing wrong with the math. Our comprehension of the math is the problem. To deny infinity is to deny math but it is the duty of the mystic, artist and the philosopher to bring from it a piece of its wisdom.

The average Human Lifespan is WAY too fucking short!!!!We need to find a way to Live at least several times longer.

Consider soccer, and playing the position of left flank. In heaven you could train to become the best left flank player in all of history, you have enough time to do that. And then you can have all that skill and knowledge removed and do it all over again for the right flank position. You could continue to do this for every position in a soccer team, becoming the best possible player of that position. And once you have done all that, you start again from the first position, but this time you wear a different shade of shirt, you continue through all positions in this new colour shirt. Once that is done, then you start again, changing the colour of the shirt, until you have trained in all possible colours of shirt. Then repeat with your pants and then with your socks and boots. Do all possible combinations while training to be the best possible player of that position. Eventually you will have done the training in every possible combination. Now you start again in a different sport and repeat the whole process over again, in all combinations. Continue until you have done every possible activity that humans can ever do.

Once you have done all this, and trillions of eons of training has passed you by, remember that you have the rest of eternity before you. Do you not think that you will become mindlessly bored and seek annihilation?

Why would anyone want to go to heaven, knowing this?

Infinity only exist in 3rd dimension and our brain is limited by it.

Whenever I think about infinity, I think about God. He was never created or born, He was just there. No beginning and no end. Just existence.

Even if you do hit a brick wall (the end) what’s behind that brick wall....infinite .

For me it is easy to comprehend infinity because of two things that involve numbers: no matter how big a number that can be imagined there can always be 1 added to it and no matter how small a number there can always be a zero placed to the right of the decimal point. Therefore, numbers can both be infinitely large and infinitely small.

This concept can be applied to many things. We can first apply it to anything that can be measured like space. Perhaps we will someday learn that space is indeed finite but it also exists in some kind of expanse that is infinite. This then gives the possibility that there could be an infinite number of space within the expanse yet the expanse will always be infinitely bigger because it will always have room for one more space.

Infinity can also be applied to size. Infinity can go infinitely big and infinitely small. Using our universe as an example if one could increase their size infinitely our observable universe would appear smaller and smaller to the point the entire observable universe could fit in the palm of our hand, or the head of a pin, or even the size of an atom and yet that would only be a beginning of how small our universe could be viewed by infinitely larger things. Conversely, we could also shrink infinitely small so the the atom would be as expansive as our universe yet even then that would only be the beginning of how big the space of an atom would appear to an infinitely shrinking observer.

Infinity can also be applied to time both past, present and future. There could be an infinity of time behind our present and an infinity of time ahead of our present. However, if time is truly connected to space and space is finite then time would also be finite yet like space it would be infinitely expressed as an infinite number of space/times in an ever greater infinite expanse.

Time and space could also have an infinite number of parallel existences that happen for every moment in time meaning there is an infinite number of parallel universes coexisting with our own.

There is also an infinite number of colors, and infinite number of sounds and an infinite number of ways to arrange them. Even our thoughts, our ideas, our imaginations and even what we can learn are probably all infinite in their expression and understanding.

Finally, there could also be an infinite number of ways we can experience things or infinite number of things to experience. Truly, this is all mind boggling but if true it would mind awesoming to experience!

All of this leads me to believe we must be infinite beings for if it were not so then how could infinity even be a thing to be considered and comprehended and perhaps looked forward to in the first place....

Can infinity comprehend us?
We could never in our lifetimes get to the edge so the universe is infinite for all purposes to us.

When a picture is taken.... whats that smallest unit of time that the camera captured??.... the time between seconds can be cut into smaller segments ... how small does that go? And does a cameras CAPTURE that unit of time

We are living the opposite of infinity.

Infinity or eternity might be confusing and to some extent scary, but its because your mind can't grasp the idea of infinity, but remember your mind never decides for you, you decide for yourself

No, we can't, because infinity is a something( a value) which moves ( increases/ decreases), even we can't calculate it through equations... It is a changeable value, so we can't calculate it on equations

Infiniti in time can t exist because when before i was born my non existense was Infinite ,and after my dead my non existense is Infinite how can It be that Infiniti had a period in time ( my Life) and IT supposed tot be timeless

I was under the impression the Planck length could not be further subdivided.

Philosophy says there are no actual infinities. "Actual" means things that exist in space-time not things imagined. It would include units of space and time which would entail the claim that the universe is finite in space and had a beginning in time. It could continue in time forever, physics aside, because the future is not actual. These claims are consistent with the Bible. So if you are predisposed to hope and faith, you have all the more reason to continue in them.

The real problem with humans solving this question is that we do not have the brain power to do it.
A dog has the mental capacity to understand the world around it up to a certain point and no further,
a dolphin ? the same thing, we humans have the intelligence to go a little further than that but we also run out of brain power and that is the reason we don't understand infinity and never will, actually quite simple really 😂

Not sure how accurate this is scalewise if you imagine the earth to be the size of a small seed inside a plant pot , in a garden ,we are familiar with the plant pot and are sending probes into the surrounding garden our telescopes have shown us other gardens , in such a situation the whole earth globe would be infinity surely. But infinity is just a theory anyway.

The human brain can not comprehend or accept anything that doesn,t have a beginning and an end .that is why we invented a big bang to give the universe a life cycle.
