First!
Why don't you start live streaming and do these things live?
Blood Meridian takes effort to read. I liked it in waves. Mood has to be right.
ОтветитьOooh I'm disappointed it didn't hit Blood Meridian again.
If it's ka, it'll come like a wind.
Have fun with those! I'm currently reading "Tuesdays with Morrie" and loving it. I'm on a "chonk sabbatical" (LOL) after recently reading "IT" for the first time. I might actually join you with "All The Light We Cannot See" as it's been on my TBR shelf for a while. I accidentally bought the large print version so it seems even bigger than the others. LOL
ОтветитьMate what a list this month, had sword of kaigen on my radar for some time. Courtesy of Andrew Watson channel (recommend). Plus another Hobb book, ive read assassin's apprentice and the blade itself....cant decide which book to read in either of those series next.
Didnt realise you live in the States, just curious which part of the states you are living...alos chunk master general, love it.
Thanks again for great video as always 📖☕
Great fun video. Don’t fear the democrats, the Donald will save u!! I’m sure that’s what u mean!? 😂
ОтветитьHave you finished the Red Rising Trilogy yet?
ОтветитьWill you please show the books while you’re talking about them? I like to watch while I’m doing things around the house and if I turn away or don’t catch the name, it can be confusing. Love your videos ❤
ОтветитьI do know what you mean about November! I don’t think our political views align (just given a few things you’ve said in the past) but I can agree that it’s critical and either way some people will need cheering up. Still love the book reviews and appreciate that you don’t speak on politics since it is so divisive. Who wants that anyway?😅
ОтветитьThere’s a film for Battle Royale
ОтветитьThe Sword of Kaigen is one of my favorite books of all time, I hope you enjoy it. The Realm of the Elderlings series by Robin Hobb is also one of my favorite series, so good! Good luck on your TBR!
ОтветитьSeeing the panic start to set in when you hit book 3 is hilarious 😂
ОтветитьBattle Royale is way way Way bloodier than the Hunger games. I personally loved the film, released in 2000.
If you like Squid Game you also might be interested in watching Alice in Borderland🇯🇵, first season is pretty good 🔥
Damn that's a lot of fantasy for one month LOL! Happy reading my friend.
ОтветитьI loved the Sword of Kaigen and hope you enjoy it. It's long but engrossing with great characters. Hobb is one of my favorite fantasy authors.
ОтветитьIf you've enjoyed Assassin's Apprentice, you're gonna love Royal Assassin... 😁
ОтветитьLove your roulette wheel mate. 😃 I also really loved The Road, so would be interested to hear your thoughts on Blood Meridian. I enjoyed The Hunger Games movie, Battle Royale might work for me. All the Light We Cannot See sounds intriguing, I am a bit obsessed with all things WW2, although this does not come across on my channel. Great Shout Out for Mark, I really enjoy his channel! Soo much fantasy 😂 but still very interested to hear your thoughts on All The Light We Cannot See. Happy Reading! 📚
ОтветитьI'm on a journey to read all the Pulitzer prize winners. I am allowing myself to choose from all the categories from each year so I may read the fiction winner or a non-fiction winner
ОтветитьNice! I appreciate the variety of books you feature. Can't wait to hear about these. I'm two chapters into Assassin's Apprentice and I'm really enjoying it, but understand why its not for everyone. It reads like a classic, like Dickens almost. 👍
ОтветитьI loved The Road, but I didn't like Blood Meridian. Maybe it wasn't the right moment, but I found it hard to follow. ⭐⭐⭐ On goodreads. On the other hand, Battle Royale was sick! Way grittier than The Hunger Games.
ОтветитьThe first four books I have read are all 5 stars for me, what a great month of reading you have ahead, but thick books for sure. So excited for your reads.
ОтветитьThere is a film version of Battle Royale. I seem to remember that it was in Japanese with English subtitles and it followed the book pretty closely.
ОтветитьI read Battle Royale about 15 years ago and absolutely loved it.
ОтветитьOooeee I read Blood Meridian in October. Buckle in for that ride :O! That's a great sounding stack for November--good luck! :D
Ответитьlol at the nervous laugh for those big books. Those Hobb ones get better with each book.
ОтветитьLooking forward to your Sword of Kaigen take! Not to go against the grain, but I'm one of the few that thought it was just "good", borderline "okay". It's unique in its plot progression, which makes it good in that sense anyway. Also kind of bummed Battle Royale wasn't landed on. You're going to tear that book apart Jay when you read it!! Such a page-turner.
ОтветитьBy the 4th spin I was rooting for The Vegetarian, not only because I really liked it but because it's super short 😄
I liked The Hunger Games quite a lot but for me Battle Royale is the OG.
I feel a bit confused about my November reads after the intensity of October, but I'd like to finally read NOS4A2 and Horns by Joe Hill, and maybe a couple of thrillers.
Don't fret about November, one's the highway and the other is the scenic route.
ОтветитьWill you review more Red rising books in the near future, Morning Star is amazing and books 4-6 (especially 5&6) are on another level
ОтветитьHave fun with your November reading! I'm glad it's fantasy heavy, because that might be just what you need at this time (if you know what I mean)
Ответить1. I love that you call the books "a fat boy" and "a chunky one" lol cracks me up. 2. You do have a lot of reading ahead of you for this month. I look forward to your end of the month video and see how many books get read. I bet you'll surprise even yourself and get more read than expected.
ОтветитьMy recommendation for the Wheel next month is Storm Front, the first book in The Dresden Files. Best Urban Fantasy going right now and my 2nd favorite Series ever after The Cosmere…
ОтветитьExcellent, Sword of Kaigen and All The Light We Cannot See have been on my TBR for a while. I haven’t come across Unsouled but it sounds intriguing, looking forward to your thoughts on it.
…and then there’s the other one.
Cheers for the shout out man
