Put the 32 teams in a double elimination bracket and boom, there is your major format.
ОтветитьI agree to profs presentation. I would only change lcq to have better half of the teams that didnt qualify and 2 wild cards.
ОтветитьAfter watching this episode, I am wondering why you guys invite guests to HLTV Confirmed. The work that NERO does is pure gold, but after this episode, it seems to me that he was here only to be the fourth head on the screen. The whole show was dominated by three main characters, with little to no space to talk in between. Great idea, but not so good execution overall. But maybe it's just my impression.
ОтветитьIs there software that would allow skipping segments containing professor and striker voices?
Ответить16 teams for playoffs is very reasonable for a major
Ответитьi cited harry a bunch in my master's thesis, thanks for the great articles :)
ОтветитьI like it. Best 32 teams enters the major. Use balls as a lottery. The 16 teams that loses are out. Break 1 day and Playoffs. So basicly 1 Chance only.
ОтветитьThe real question is where do you want the jeopardy to be? Seeding should be based on W/L ratio from previous results, wildcards are wild cards bottom seeds, BO3 throughout and a BO5 Final. Single elimination. Top 32 teams in the world 8x4 group stage format. The major should take about 3 weeks and be run once a year as the flagship tournament of cs.
ОтветитьOnly Invite EU Teams, there, I fixed it.
ОтветитьI don't get why two swiss groups would be so hard. We already get chalengers and legends stages. Just do two consecutive groups as it is with the different stages right now. Then only the round of 16 would be added, which could be done in 2-3 days, either off stage or on a smaller one.
Ответитьimo if majors use the TI format, games would have way more weight, more teams get to play, and more viewer enjoyment. would love to hear what others think of TI format in a non-dota game
Ответитьfantastic shirt choice prof, don't listen to spunj. Also very nice haircut :)
ОтветитьI would like a double elimination swiss, first round is 2 groups of swiss, teams that finish with 3 wins advance to the upper swiss and teams that finish with 3 losses go to the lower swiss, if you lose 3 matches at the lower swiss, youre out, teams with 3 wins at upper swiss qualify for play-offs, teams with 3 losses from upper and 3 wins from lower go to the decider, if you win 3 matches in the decider, you go to play-offs, if you lose 3 matches youre out
Ответитьwhere chapters ?
Ответитьwhat happend with the timestamps?
Ответитьif the money arw the issue then just make the major PPV….cmon we are in 2023, people are used to it already and everybody can afford 5-10€ for a 2 week entertainment
ОтветитьI like how the thumbnail highlights Spunj's hair 😂
ОтветитьI mean this might be laughed a lot about, but I would take what prof suggested for groups with something ridiculous changed which is short matches instead of long ones, think about it more teams would come up with new strats to surprise the opponent, it wont take 5 hours to finish a map, it will be really exciting, nowadays I could leave my house go eat in a restaurant go back by bus and still find the same map going at the stream, before the era of Astralis there was a lot of explosive plays, that within the first 30 second you can see only three remaining players remaining alive, now adays it's very tactical I mean it's smart plays but we need faster pace, if you can't get it from the round itself at least get it from the match, by reducing the number of rounds that need to be played, I would suggest that only for group stage, from playoff onwards it should return to long matches.
ОтветитьBO3 3rd place decider + BO5 final on the last day.
Rest isn't relevant.
This is what a Major should be, like the Olympics. with a 3rd place finisher
Let’s go striker
ОтветитьHave ppl forgotten about the fallen and furia situation when he provoked fans on twitter against them?
ОтветитьI love The International in Dota 2, I believe it has the best format
Ответитьno timestamps sadge
ОтветитьI think the best way to leverage other events for the Major without needing too strict rules and regulations for the organizers would be to play a (partly) virtual league as the qualifier for the Major including singular matches from all the events over the year.
For example you could have two 24 or 32 team Groups (or something like that) where everyone plays against everyone else during the course of the season and bo3 matches in all events can be counted towards the league (at the teams' agreement). Then before the major you would organize RMR-like tournaments, where the teams that haven't yet played against each other in other events can play their games to get the full schedule done. Then at the end a certain portion of the teams will proceed to the Major (top12 from each group maybe) and a number of teams will be relegated to a closed qualifier (maybe bottom 3-6 from each group) where they play against teams coming from an open qualifier for a spot in the next season's Major qualifier league.
Such a system would benefit the whole scene in that a lot of events would get added interest as many games would also count towards the Major league. Thus tournament organizers would also be incentivized to diversify their tournaments to have teams from the entire top48 or top64 to gather the added interest from having Major qualifier games in their tournaments. Tier1 teams wouldn't just circlejerk against each other all season long and tier2-3 teams wouldn't be just stuck in their own tournaments. It would also spread the excitement of the major over a much longer time span, starting from the first events of the season and climaxing right before the major.
Is 4 groups of 6 that 4 teams go through to round of 16 a bad idea?
Ответитьbro im pressed watching this nero guy 'psycho killer' face. plus hes not really talking too in this 2hour 40 minutes podcast like wtf is he even doing here.
ОтветитьFor the stream question, I think it would be cool if we had one main stream and then one NFL RedZone style that just watched whatever they wanted + co-streamers
ОтветитьI really like dota2 Ti format
ОтветитьI think playoffs should be best of 16 in a knock out system and a major once a year
ОтветитьStriker's cat is so small and cute
ОтветитьCurious to me why valve don't come together with esl and blast to say the winners of their best tournaments get a free pass to the major. Cologne, kato and world finals only. I know they are somewhat closed off, but I feel like winning those events still mean a lot.
ОтветитьWhat kinda of dumb podcast is this you didn't touch on navi cloud 9 liquid talking about some stupid fake made up tournament wow you guys are dumb
ОтветитьMy idea for improving Professeur blueprint:
-use ELO to set UP next stage, not direct results of swiss ( 3:0 or 3:1 or 3:2).
-LCS should by played by 16 best team by ELO from whole world (with no differenction by region), that lost thier RMR. Format - double elimination.
-making 2nd swiss instend of playoff for 16 teams (it can it in 4 days, 4th day - 2:1, 1:2 and 2:2 matches).
-double elimitnation playoff, where losing braked in in morning or out of stage.
this require no beak days.
For my dream major, I want group selection by teams. Think how StarCraft always had group selection where four top-seeded players in Ro16 were able to select from the remaining teams who would be in their group. Then the teams selected by the top four-seeded players select teams from remaining 8, etc. Adds some drama and personality while giving player insight into who are really the best teams and if there are any grudges. At the end, I know at one point the team with the highest seed could swap one player (in CS' case, a team) from their group with another player. It was always a lot of fun to see a bit more personality from the players, see what would happen, and usually while there would be one group of death where who knows what was going to happen, the best teams would usually get through.
ОтветитьNapapijri is an Italian brand, which uses the Norwegian flag, and is named after the Finnish word for arctic circle
it's pronounced something like nah-pah-pee-rih
I think we should definitely have Bo5 finals at major tournaments to really determine which team deserves the title. It would be way more exciting for us viewers too.
ОтветитьI just don't get how people are saying this Fallen move will work. You can't be putting up a 1.00 rating with an AWP these days and Fallen has been struggling with even that in T2.
ОтветитьCame for the name captions, stayed for the format nerds ❤
ОтветитьThe answer to Question #4 in the Skinionaire Quiz is incorrect. aizy had a rating of 1.55 at Cluj-Napoca when he was on Dignitas
