Slade Cecconi? He's a bum.
ОтветитьJust make it to October
Ответитьnice trade for Cleveland
ОтветитьHe can’t even say that the goal is to win the World Series, just talks about winning the AL Central. It’s clear that’s the goal for this org and they don’t care about getting good enough to win a WS. Just putting together as cheap a team as possible that can still be competitive enough to win a weak division.
ОтветитьThis guy does elite with the money he works with. People need to see that. Josh had a bad value and to get that fall off and weight gain into the post season hurt him. But us too. I'm ok with moving him we just ideally need that pitcher to work then that late second round pick gives us value insurance. So all in all, not bad value potentially. Gimenez was a wild swinger trending down. I'm ok with them being you draft Travis Bazzana first overall and have Brito on the cusp and others even Schnee looked good just gotta adjust a little. Rocchio we'll see but had a track record of hitting before last year and was great defensively. But Manzo and DeLauter and Chourio as young centerpiece key players will still be key this time going forward as core guys. We need them to take charge behind Jose before he gets too old to contend. That with having Gavin Williams fully developing with Bibee and Bieber back with Lively and Cantillo then you add in the pitcheras we acquired with that guy coming with a low 3 ERA and really good stuff isn't some slouch he'll be a good #2-3 caliber starter. But yes offensively, we'll need others to replace the fall off of Gimenez and then Josh late. But Manzo is a great pure hitter with power looking good and Santana is back a better defender than Josh and better against lefties. People are tripping if they think it wasn't a savvy deal, it was actually. Because you get either for just one year regardless, extending Josh with his profile is too risky and out of the question either way you ask me. So Santana for a year isn't bad. This could be a sneaky deal like the Kluber trade was, when you got a bit very not well known Clase. 😉 The one thing I will trust this organization on, is pitching scouting..And they grabbed some arms this off season, let's give it them the benefit of the doubt, being in truth our farm does have loaded potential position players.
ОтветитьHe has no knowledge about baseball period with this God awful trades. 😢. Can we get new owners? And trade Chris to the Rubber Ducks
Ответить“Our goal in 2025 is to win the American League Central”? It’s almost like they don’t even want the stadium to be filled. Dude your team was just a few wins away from the World Series! How about getting there as your goal?! Yankees’ GM would be castrated if he said this to their fan base. And the irony is that Dolan has much more money than Steinbrenner. I get it they bring in more revenue but it isn’t guaranteed that places like Yankee stadium will sell out. So it isn’t just that they bring in more money. They bring in more money because they’re willing to spend and recognize that spending money earns money! Any business owner worth their salt knows this. The Guardians saved maybe 1-2 million if the 1-year 12 million to Santana goes through. Sure maybe we develop Slade and maybe this pick turns out. But I’m tired of this losing, weak goal oriented cheapskate miserly thinking. Who out there is a frustrated guardians fan right now?
ОтветитьIt's a MLB issue... salary cap needs to be implemented for balance like the other sports...The Browns and Cavs doesn't have any of these issues
ОтветитьLook at this guy when he talks. He doesn't believe a word he's saying. He knows he just gutted this team for peanuts. Worst owners/front office in baseball.
ОтветитьBlah,Blah,Blah...Lip Service...Competitive maybe, but never a World Series Trophy...Not under the current regime...Dolan is happy when they can go into the playoffs..That is it...All we hear from this guy are excuses...Always the Bridesmaid, never the Bride..
ОтветитьMaybe I'm wrong but if I remember correctly, Josh never hit in the postseason. He helped us get there, but we have good young talent. For this team, I think the window is now.
ОтветитьTheir goal? LMFAO
ОтветитьDon't you worry. Those cheap ass renovations will fix everything!
ОтветитьGentlemen, this front office is the best in baseball.
It is not Chris's fault he doesn't have the funds to build a team properly. He must build through the draft and internally, at least until the new owners take full control, then let's see what he does. I think he is doing a fantastic job. LAD, NYY, NYM, CLE, those were the final four. Chris deserves a lot of credit. Go Guard Dogs!!
if you just lower your expectations.. it doesn't hurt anymore.
ОтветитьI don't give this woke owner and organization any of my money.
Get me a better owner with deep pockets and a TV deal and the Indians name back and maybe I will spend the time and money to come watch.
I thank GOD the Indians dont listen to yall the way the Browns do. You guys are dumb af. They know what theyre doing, let them do it!
ОтветитьI wish Dan Gilbert could buy the indians! He doesn't settle for less than the best and 2016 proves that. The dolans are a fucking joke. Go dodgers
ОтветитьI remember when they let michael brantley walk and then the very next year he won all-star MVP on the very field that he spent so many years playing in. I hope this trade bites them in the ass and josh goes on to have a HOF career. Good luck selling tickets next year.
ОтветитьThese guys are full of bleep. You needed a bat more than pitching. Now you need two bats. Signing Santana is a waste of money. These guys running this team must be democrats, they don't do anything but lie to the fans. This is not a top team in the AL. Detroit and KC are better teams right now, then These lying goofballs.
ОтветитьThe problem is as soon as a guardian player makes the all star game he's traded
ОтветитьStop yapping bro
ОтветитьFuck this cheap ass organization...they never want to even try and win a World Series...Fuck the Dolans...wealthy ass bastards that are cheap as hell. Wish we had an owner as committed to winning as Dan Gilbert is w/ the Cavs.
ОтветитьSmfh. The heart of our year. Gone!!! AGAIN 😢. AS A FAN IM SOO FUCKING SICK OF EVERY TIME A GUY PLAYS ABOVE AVERAGE AND EARNS A BAG WE DUMP EM FOR pennies. Bullshit! You have fucking money !!! SPEND IT ON THE GUYS WHO EARN IT FOR YOU DAMNIT
ОтветитьThe fans get attached to guys. The players produce big time and help us get to ALCS and they say F U your gone cuz we dont want to pay you what your worth what you EARNED from us. Glad we are always competitive but its just wrong and it hurts us die hard fans EVERY DAMN TIME
ОтветитьCant wait for Bazzana to kill it and come up and earn a big payday only for us to trade him for a bag of chips and a soda unless hes willing to take 40% of his value IF THAT. Fkn joke. Smfh
ОтветитьThis is a offseason you have after not making the playoffs… I would be totally happy about it. We were 3 wins from the World Series!!!! Freaking 3!!!
ОтветитьOur goal is to win the central and develop players so they can sign elsewhere and win!!!!
ОтветитьOne of the best GM's in MLB.
ОтветитьI assure you that Antonetti is more than a mouthpiece for the cheap Dolan’s. It is his extreme competence that enables the Cleveland ball club to achieve well beyond and despite its financial challenges and shortcomings.
ОтветитьGuards are paying Santana exactly what you would be paying Naylor for this upcomming season..Naylor is Below league avg. fielder at first base...Santana is a gold glove at first base..Naylor CANNOT hit left handed pitching chases bad pitches tryn be hero and pounds balls into the dirt instead of sacrificing and moving runners over..he has conditioning concerns that lead to injury history..Santana is not gonna hit 30 bombs and have a 100 Rbi's but hes overall better hitter gets on base will do the little things that helps the team win and not hurt it like Naylor did in the playoffs...also he will be keeping first base warm till Manzardo is ready to take over...Naylor was going to walk after this season cuz no way was The Guards gonna pay Naylor a $24M per season extension he is at his peak value..traded him to get some upside pitching was a great deal..!! peeps need to chill watch Gimenez and Naylor on their new teams and at the end of the 2025 season..youll see Gimenez still cant hit .200 making $15M then 2026 $23M etc etc..and Naylor wil be injured and ridding the pine verses lefties and not being clutch...
ОтветитьIt is a business. One of the reasons billionaires have money is they don't piss it against walls. We put a competitive team on the field just about every year on a budget. Our front office people are recognized as some of the best in baseball because we consistently win without going broke. It's a small market team, with small market tv money, and a half full stadium
ОтветитьUnfortunately Josh's performance dropped off noticeably after the break...He can't hit lefties or keep his batting helmet on! You never have enough PIOTCHING..Glad Carlos is back...gold glove plus he works pitchers and is another SWITCH HITTER!!! Guards were always concerned about Naylor's weight/conditioning.
ОтветитьIt's MANZ>>>>>>>>>>>TIME!!!!!!!!
ОтветитьFat Naylor will do nothing for the D-bags just like he did in the ALCS.
Don’t understand paying all the money for Santana.
At some point, grow some balls and tell the Dolan's to pony up some money, or sell the damn team! Continue to be a competitive team, while being in the dog house in payroll. We probably could win the WS if we kept our star players and maybe signed a talented free agent, but we refuse to spend any money. Let's keep being good, but not great. The Yankees show us every year, if you cant hit homeruns in the playoffs, you will lose!
ОтветитьRinse and repeat every offseason smh
ОтветитьAnd got nothing back but a 6.06 pitcher
ОтветитьThink I'm done with this team. Went to 26 games and 2 playoff games. I'm sick of giving my money to this team that will never give back to the fans. Trade JRam he deserves better
ОтветитьLook at his body language. Dude doesn’t even believe the words coming out of his mouth. He’s so full of sh*t his eyes are brown.
ОтветитьTrust the process. They know what they are doing
ОтветитьI don't think losing Naylor is that big of a deal. Also, I am not sure he was a fan favorite.
ОтветитьNot happy about the Josh nailer trade being a fan
ОтветитьI mean if we trade we need to get better right?
ОтветитьLie lie lie just to dump salaries
ОтветитьLet's talk about the Gimenez contract and comparison shop.
Let's go back go back to 2022 when Gimenez finished 6th in the MVP voting. He made 2 million. Gimenez was the 22nd highest paid 2nd baseman. Other second baseman, such as Dylan Moore, Donovan Solano, Thairo Estrada, Brad Miller Cavan Biggio, Tony Kemp, Adam Frazier, and Brendan Rogers had higher salaries, some of them significantly.
Moving on to 2023, Gimenez wins his 2nd golden glove and 1st platinum glove. He still doesn't come close to cracking the top 10 in salary. Compensation wise, he gets beat out by the likes of Brandon Drury ($8.5 million .169 BA, 4 HR, 1 SB), Jorge Polanco ($10.5 million .213 BA, 16 HR) just to name a few.
In 2024 Gimenez makes his highest salary ever, $5.6 million, which places him at 14th among 2nd baseman. He wins his 3rd consecutive gold glove. They say he was an offensive liability. They shy away from mentioning his 30 stolen bases, 15 hit by pitches, and .309 BA with runners in scoring position... not to mention being #1 in defensive runs saved.
Moving on to the future - 2025. Let's comparison shop: Gimenez is currently 9th among 2nd baseman in salary at $10.5 million for the upcoming season. Nico Hoerner will make $11.5 million carrying his 2024 BA of .273 and 7 HR to the next season. Jeff McNeil will make ($15.75 million coming off .238 BA and 12 HR), Chris Taylor $13 million (.202 with 4 HR), Xander Bogaerts makes $25.5 million coming off of .264 BA with 11 HR.
202 6- In the middle of his prime years, 28 year old Gimenez makes $15.5. Meanwhile other second baseman ---- 37 year old Altuve makes $32.5 million, 37 year old Semien makes $26 million, 35 year old Bogaerts makes $25.5 million 34 year old Marte brings in $16.6 million, already struggling 35 year old Jeff McNeil brings home $15.75 million, 37 year old Chris Turner (who batted .202 with 4 HR in 2024) makes $12 million.
Moving on to 2027, Gimenez is 29 years old and in his prime. He peaks out salary wise at $23 million. 38 year old Altuve is still making $32.5 million and under contract until he's 40 years old. 38 year old Semien is still making $26 million and 36 year old Bogaerts is still at $25.5 million. Gimenez is the 4th highest paid 2nd baseman out of the 8 signed in 2027. Six of the eight 2nd baseman signed will be between the ages of 35 - 38. Gimenez is the 2nd youngest at 29.
2025 - 2029 : Given the projected salary jumps created by lucrative deals for back end starting pitchers and $700 million deals for superstars like Ohtani and Soto, that Gimenez contract is going to be a drop in the bucket, as major market teams are projected to spend $300 - $400 million per year for players when Gimenez contract expires, while almost all middle market teams (but probably not Cleveland) field teams between $150 - $250 million.
I do believe they should sell the team to a winning owner enough with this small market bs Cleveland is flat out a superb contender in 2 of 3 teams majority of the time..with that being said I believe in Antonetti he’s savage in building a legitimate team for the city.
ОтветитьI love my Cleveland team but my gootness what a bunch of whiner and complainers our fans are. We deserve to lose perpetually. Cleveland baseball has been among the best in the league for ten straight years. We're spoiled being able to complete for divisions every year. Seriously, appreciate what you have. We lost our football team in 1995, remember? Just nice to even have one that doesnt suck, especially if you watched the browns at all since 1999, and i know a bunch of you have. Hey the browns spend money, and they are 3-12. So i dont even wanna hear it. And this move ended up costing 750,000 more than keeping Naylor so making an argument for being cheap over this is literally not even a possible thing.
