Thanks for joining me on this difficult adventure in the sweltering heat combined with a refreshing float down the middle of the valley with impressive, and unique vantage points that the river affords. I was inspired to add the Merced River float at the end of my hike in response to a short I published last week, with some viewers asking for a longer version. Starting with hiking upper Yosemite Falls climbing over 3000 feet of elevation over 3.6 miles in 100-degree weather. Then I cool off by riding down the Merced River through the valley. Unfortunately, the Raft rentals are done for the 2024 Season, so I used a cheap inflatable raft, but it gets the job done. The waters are mellow, and the route is relatively short, around three miles. Many years rentals will go later into the season, but things are drying up fast here. I put in at the bridge near Curry Village and floated down to the Swinging Bridge, next to Yosemite Lodge. It was such a jam-packed day that I could not squeeze in my outdoor gourmet! I was just as bummed as I am sure some of you will be. But the river float was a great way to end the day and was in lieu of some exotic burrito. Thanks for watching!!! Much Love. :)
