I use Line or Instrument? And should the phantom power be off? Especially if I need it for a condenser mic plugged into the other input on the interface? Thanks! :)

Behringer UMC404HD will do its job for recording sources, but on the playback side, given the fact that it also has TRS and XLR outputs, its maximum output level (+3dBU) is insufficient to drive balanced inputs monitors or PA speakers to nominal level (+4dBU) and has no headroom. You may need to use an additional preamp or mixer to raise the gain to a sufficient level.
An audio interface nominal output level should reach at least +4dBU and its maximum output should reach much more to allow for headroom without introducing distortion.
In comparison with other USB audio interfaces, able to deliver output levels of +6dBU, +8dBU, +10dBU or +12dBU, Behringer UMC404HD output levels (1V RMS / 0.78 dBV) are low and similar to consumer Bluetooth output devices.
The only Behringer audio interface able to offer decent output levels is the UMC1820.

I bought this interface to work with my Mac book Pro and Logic ProX. But it only works with "Yosemite" it does not work with the actual system with Mac. Any idea why? or solution? thanks

I wonder why I can't select Input 1 and Input 2 seperately from one another. I have two microphones connected and even if the button for stereo/mono is set to mono I can't select any input seperately in the windows devices. This leads to one mic being the main one that always records and the other one doing nothing at all. Please help.

I am using UMC 1820 on MacBook Pro (Mid2012) Catalina, I am using Cubase 11 Elements, and I have this problem..2 days ago I installed Cubase, it worked perfectly, after 2 days, from how I want to mix the recorded sound is strange,is heard like tweeters...can someone tell me what the problem might be? thanks

Dear Behringer. this is bar far the most absolute bunch of twaddle ive ever encountered. these driver download install guides are nonsense. your drivers are undownloadable! I can not understand that your customers who paid money for your products are not being helped to complete the install of these products or perhaps all you care about is the money and screw us after that. ive lost count now how many times and how many versions of your drivers i have downloaded only to be met with absolutely nothing but a little black box that does absolutely nothing. im not even going to ask for help anymore because im sick of trying with this damn thing.

Is the Behringer UMC1820 (or Any Behringer Interface) compatible with Audacity/Ubuntu 22.04? I am thinking of buying a UMC1820 to upgrade my recording studio. I have an Ubuntu 22.04 Operating System, & use Audacity (latest version). I've searched the internet, seeking answers, this video is the closest, I've come to finding an answer. I don't want to spend money on an interface that isn't compatible with what I have. NOTE* I already own 2 Digital 8 Track Recorders (TASCAM DP02 & DP03) but the final product (IE CDs/MP3/etc) is lacking in Volume for Radio Play.(I have had several songs played on FM & internet radio) I was told that, though my recordings are GOOD, they lack the Volume necessary for Radio play. they had to tweak my recordings just to get them close to the minimum volume required.
ANY info would be greatly appreciated. I'm most definitely on a shoestring budget, that's why I chose Behringer. I have used several of their products over the last 20 years, & was always happy with their performance.(despite what others have said) PLEASE any info would help. Gil

hey, I have a 404 and I use Logic Pro on the Mac and I have this terrible input delay, can I get a hand resolving?

I cannot control the audio of the interface through windows! Changing the volume does nothing, it's only at one level.

I'm using a late 2015 iMac for this audio setup. (And something more powerful for my 4k video editing)
For monitoring, am I better off using the audio outs on the Behringer unit (maximum output level +3dBU) or the pathetic little mini-jack on the iMac? I do suspect it's swings and roundabouts here... 😂

Hi, Need your support. My windows 11 can't detect the audio interface. I have downloaded the latest driver but nothing has changed.

Mini Mac 13.3.1 will not recognize Behringer 440 I followed all the steps in this video and researched others. I’ve had absolutely no luck my computer simply will not register any signal from the Behringer. If I plug the headphones into the Barringer icon hear my audio. But still no signal seems to be registering with the mini Mac. Anybody have any ideas. It used to work until I got this computer repaired perhaps he did an update to change things I don’t know. Please help

pc doesn't recognize behringer202hd..windows 8..I've been dealing with this for an au...I took it to repair, they said it's not defective..the tool is fine.but it doesn't see windows..

Doesn't work on Windows 11 despite your terrible out of date driver from 2021 which was for Windows 10 and 11. The audio just stutters violently. Don't bother getting this guys if you have windows 11, utter waste of time and money.

Just bought this audio interface to record sound from podcast mics and I'm GOING INSANE. I've configured the right audio settings in FL studios which is my DAW. Neither asio4all or UMC Asio is working and so I'm currently getting NO SOUND. Does anyone know how to fix pls???

I just bought the UMC 204Hd and it does not support win 8.1 , the driver setup from the website starts and ends instantly after displaying setup failed due to error . I tried installing the device on my laptop - same case . I think untill behringer fix this issue the hardware is going to be for windows 10 exclusive use only . Its major BS . It just does not recognise windows to show up as an option for playback or recording . If anyone has a fix for this please do tell , i dont want to sell a brand new purchase .

Ive set this up on both mac and pc, but on mye mac I only get sounds on the left side when I use a headset plugged in to the interface (UMC204HD). How do I fix this?

Im absolutely at wits end i can not get this interface to work with my pc shouldn’t be hard at all, I’ve got a ead10 and that was super simple to get set up..

hi please help this is driving me crazy... everything works fine, I can get signal through to logic and record BUT for whatever reason, when recording (even just DI guitar or bass) I can hear everything else being picked up in that audio track. this is while using headphones. its not bleed coming from the headphones because that would be impossible with di. its quite low and muffled but no matter what I do or play with the settings, I just can't stop it!!! even the click comes through too. its so confusing. I've gone back to my old audio interface to see if it was a problem with my daw (logic) but the old one works just fine. I have looked everywhere to see if anyone else has had this problem but no luck yet. please help :((
