Obviously, Jared Goff didn't play his best against the Commanders. Pretty much everyone will acknowledge that, but here's what's so funny about that. With Goff's struggles in the game considered, the Lions still scored 31 points. I'll take it if I'm a Lions fan under normal circumstances, but this was just one of those games where 31 wasn't enough

If Dre Greenlaw doesn’t freak tear hamstring at start of Q3, SF likely wins that Super Bowl. Burrow, Lawerence, Love , all have not met expectations because of a lack of talent? Nope, most likely all the talent in the world but injuries kept them less than 100%. We are stretching these elite athletes beyond breaking point, with 17 game seasons, soon to be 18. International games with over seas travel. Games every night of the week, meaning it’s not the one off Thanksgiving game resulting in only 3 days rest,but weekly for Amazon to have stand alone game. The NFL is breaking the goose and those golden eggs are starting to crack.

Tbf, it was a FULL team collapse for the Lions in that divisional round. Goff lost it with SEVERAL terrible interceptions, and the defense collapsed as well (as one would have expected with all of the injuries they had last season)...
P.S. On a separate note, notice that for basically every other team, we talk about the negative effects of the "SB hangover" (especially with the team that loses the SB), and yet on FTF, we don't mention that when it comes to the Chiefs? 🤔

I think the Lions are in trouble but not because they lost their coordinators or because of the emotional toll of going far in the playoffs 2 years in a row. The Lions are in trouble because their center just retired out of nowhere. As long as they stay strong in the trenches the lions are going to be a formidable team. Can they replace their center at this juncture and still be a dominant offensive line? That I have questions about.....
