I always love how superior we think ourselves to believe that ancient civilizations didn't have any notion of wheels. This is egotism at its finest. After all, it must be incredibly difficult to see a rolling rock and cook up a concept like the wheel. After all, we are certain that if anyone made a wooden wheel thousands of years ago, we surely would know about it.

The so called "submarines" is a blatant misrepresentation of the text. First, they were boats with top halves designed to be safe and water-tight when capsizes occurred (hence the air plugs on the top and bottom of the ship). This didn't work like a submarine, as they rested on the surface of the water. The text also specifically addresses that divine intervention via wind blew the ships safely to the Americas. Therefore, this was not an oversight on Joseph's part as implied by the video.

Book of Mormon Temple - This was possibly built around 30 years after the arrival in Americas. The text says that it was built after the manner of Solomon's temple, which does not mean that it was as large. And the text explicitly states that they didn't use very precious materials (due to scarcity). If someone said they modeled their home after the White House, that doesn't mean it's as large as the White House. Additionally, there is no way we are archaeologically certain that a building like this wasn't made 2,500 years ago.

Some of the anachronisms claims made in this video are already debunked. Three examples include horses, elephants and barley (used by the Hohokams). Also, saying something couldn't have existed due to a lack of publicly distributed evidence about it is a far cry from proof of non-existence. The steel claim may be the most ridiculous.

It seems odd that the narrator suggests if there were large battles somewhere in the Americas thousands of years ago, we could easily find the evidence. Interestingly, he brings up the Civil War with casualties in about the same magnitude. I would venture to guess that you can't easily find a bunch of Civil War bayonets just lying around today. And it has only been 200 years or so since the Civil war (versus something closer to 2,000 years in this case). Also, the location of the Civil War is much smaller than all of the Americas. By comparison, just how confident are we that we will be able to find Civil War bayonets after waiting another 1,800 years in a search area of 2 continents, while being limited to today's technology? And is there a reason we wouldn't expect the swords to have rusted by now, or at least be buried (since it's pretty unfeasible to dig up several feet of topsoil spread over 2 continents to look for it)?

The population argument is ridiculously wrong. Someone doesn't know how to math I guess. At our current world growth rate of 1.17% a year, you only need about 1,009 years for an initial population of 16 people (e.g. the smaller group) to grow to the referenced ~2M. This is way under the 2,200 year period. And the 1.17% growth rate is likely low-balling it, when considering the recent worldwide decline in fertility rates. It's interesting that they present these "facts" with such extreme confidence, when not even the most basic types of checks appear to have been done.

I've been a TBM for 38yrs, I've served in many capacities. I'm literally 4wks into my faith being eroded. The first time I felt something wasn't right, was the picture of Joseph Smith and not the image of the man who had been portrayed as the prophet. If the real picture of Joseph smith is a true likeness, I don't see a prophet of god, but a man who I wouldn't trust. At this time I feel so guilty for not going to church and seeing all the wonderful people there that I love. But I have so many doubts now. Do you think the leaders as more info comes to light will wish to distance the church from Joseph smith and his teachings. If this is the true church we shouldn't be afraid to question what is truth and what is not
