Wonderful play, very touching, very tender. The transition, from piano to crescendo are brilliant. Thank you, dear Vikingur!
Ответитьfirst genius film vid ever!
the human uplifting within a frigid inhuman world
Climbing Cosmic tonal scaffold
My emotions are so stirred by this piece. I weep, but not from sadness, perhaps something more like joy. I do not understand myself. It is so beautiful.
Amazing music! I listen to it from Lofoten, it's very inspiring! 🤗
Ответитьwow how beautiful, in competition with Gould 💚
Absolutely beautifully played. As someone said in the comments below, I need to hear this beautiful prayer every day of my life.
How can anyone ruin such beautiful music with a film of ugly, lost "people" walking around in the middle of nowhere? We don't need that kind of background.
When I first heard this melody, I wanted to play it, so I told my teacher and he said yes. Now I'm continuing to study it for my next recital
Masterpeice magic!
That video doesn't count 😅
It doesn't match at all in any way the GRANDIOSE VIBE from BACH'S sonata.
So,... l don't understand why they decided to place that funny video.😊😅
I am crying but still feel hope.
Lovely version, mellow, not at an obnoxious speed like alot of people think they have to play Bach at nowadays - though the video is giving me Du Hast vibes and I expected Till Lindemann to waltz in and burn the place down.
Dov'è ambientato il video ?
Simply marvelous... Never heard something better! Thank you so much!
Vielen ❤dank❤
How have I not heard this before? I wonder how many other gems have been hidden from me!? Thank you Bach, Olafsson (who sounds like one of the all time great pianists to me) and everyone who made this possible.
Watched after a long interlude. Perhaps my favorite music video of all time.
It took me thirty years to appreciate his music...
THIS on a desert island.
Linda música.
Beautiful!
Wonderful place❤❤❤❤and music....where is rhe video? Iceland?
Dan ganas de ser feliz…
Thats shostakovich
JS Bach introduced Vikingur to us, and vice versa. 🤍
Gorgeous transcription. What is the meaning of the video?
Das ist so unglaublich schön.
The first four notes are already a universe in itself
Too many “suggestions” from the commenters about tempo this, and trill that. It’s an organ piece, not piano. But here’s the thing. Even Karl Richter’s St Matthew Passion (looking at you Deutsche Grammaphon) bears a listen every few years. When you have 6 hours to kill…😊 By today’s standards it just feels wrong. But at the time I bet it didn’t.
This is absolutely astonishing. Transcendent, open, inviting, perfect. It’s no exaggeration to say I’ve devoted my life to J.S. Bach. This is the reason. Thank you seems inadequate. You move me to tears.
Gutta cavat lapidem! thank you!
A Light in the Abyss
ОтветитьMEGA!
Ответитьit is great and I love it.... but it is an adaption.
Hi, does anyone know the name of the film that the people in the background gather around the pianist? - it looks like a science fiction
The piano transcription causes this piece to blossom into a fresh burst of unutterable beauty. Vikingur makes himself humbly transparent in his interpretation. I can’t stop listening to this.
Wonderful! beautifully played.👏👏
Good morning. I hear it four years ago.. and.. I am back today in here.
