Why are there no great American composers? Some parts of works are great but no great works comparable to those of 19th century German composers.
ОтветитьI was so sorry when Prof. Seegers left BFO. His playing always fluid and relaxed even in the most powerful moments as in this video and he played perfectly his part. In the latest years I’ve notice a “Guess timpanist” who plays for BFO sometimes who has the same attitudine of mr. Seegers…no useless agitation of arm and head but good fluid and correct playing. Bravo
ОтветитьWanderful
ОтветитьAn English conductor performing a quintessential English master piece by an English composer. Allow this into your heart and "be moved"
ОтветитьElgar!!!Gênio.......Obrigado mestre!,!!Variações,Enigma,,!!!Adorável partitura!!!
ОтветитьTo witness artistry of this caliber is the ultimate privilege. Bravo.
ОтветитьDer sollte zum Friseur gehen
ОтветитьFrom the Land of no music by the great Berlin Phil , and conducted by the man that didn't get his promised concert hall. If only the mean Tory donors would stump up for a national concert hall , rather than lining their own pockets and avoiding tax and any philanthropy. It should be called the Henry Wood Hall , and based in South or East London
Ответить❤
ОтветитьWhenever I hear this piece my atheism is challenged hard.
ОтветитьI’m not religious there’s no supernatural entity called god we’re part of the very fabric of the universe lucky we are but when I hear Elgar I can believe in humanities heaven
ОтветитьSincerest condolences to Her Majesty
ОтветитьIt speaks of the human heart, i think-- sad, pensive, triumphant, swelling and sinking on the waves of life, rising again with love and hope.
ОтветитьOne of my favorite pieces , probably makes my top 10 of all time
Ответитьthe violin section is falling out of their chairs....
ОтветитьÀ 2.12, il m'a semblé voir William, duc de Cambridge jouer du violon. 🤭
ОтветитьRattle è probabilmente uno dei direttori più sottovalutati degli ultimi 50 anni
ОтветитьSublime.
ОтветитьMusik, die die Seele aufreisst ...
ОтветитьI wonder why this spectacular video doesn't start from the beginning of this piece.
ОтветитьGood. Barenboim and the Chicago, much better.
ОтветитьOften conductors follow Elgar's tempo direction too faithfully, making it sound like a marching band piece. This performance gets the tempo just right :)
ОтветитьThis is England its rugged coastline rolling hills and its mountains and lakes that is Elgar's Enigma.
ОтветитьFine, first rate work.Kent Vogel A.S.C.A.P
ОтветитьOoh this tears my heart out and I don't know why.....nimrod
ОтветитьNice to see Mary Berry doing something else than just baking....
Ответитьgrandissimo il primo violoncello , diretto in maniera impeccabile . oltre ai due migliori corni al mondo
ОтветитьThat's the magnificent Berlin Philharmonic playing with their Rattle...
Ответитьi dedicate this to my late father, who died on the 20th January 2024 age 91. He respected and enjoyed all of Elgars works, every Sunday without fail, he would take a random vinyl's and enjoy. god i miss him.....
ОтветитьWhat is it about this piece of music that touches your soul?
ОтветитьInteresting that it is thought of as a funeral piece now when it was meant as tribute to friendship
ОтветитьTo the memory of my father who listened to this every year at the service at the Cenotaph thinking of his comrades who couldn’t
ОтветитьHow reverential is this? The irony is not lost in who’s playing what and with so much tenderness, care and d beauty… rare it is to witness such maturity … bravo Berliner philharmonic for your sincere talent and respect.
ОтветитьReal Music.
ОтветитьThe beginning of the movement is crucial, I do not like that it has been cut out….
ОтветитьSimply BRAVO 👏🏻
ОтветитьNow THAT'S what Elgar was feeling. Consummate.
ОтветитьMusica fantastica!
ОтветитьThe title should include that this is the Nimrod movement from Enigma Variations. It’s obviously not the whole piece which would be much longer. Anyone looking for a performance of Nimrod would not find this.
ОтветитьThis masterpiece sounds like the instruments are beathing in and out with a lush breath
ОтветитьToo fast. It doesn’t capture the somber melody of the music.
Ответитьdas ist großartig
Ответитьmagnificent
Ответитьi stand with Ukraine
