1 Blessèd city, heavenly Salem,
vision dear of peace and love,
who of living stones art builded
in the height of heaven above,
and with angel hosts encircled,
as a bride dost earthward move!2 From celestial realms descending,
bridal glory round thee shed,
meet for him whose love espoused thee,
to thy Lord shalt thou be led;
all thy streets and all thy bulwarks
of pure gold are fashioned.3 Bright thy gates of pearl are shining,
they are open evermore;
and by virtue of his merits
thither faithful souls do soar,
who for Christ's dear name in this world
pain and tribulation bore.4 Many a blow and biting sculpture
polished well those stones elect,
in their places now compacted
by the heavenly Architect,
who therewith hath willed for ever
that his palace should be decked.5 Christ is made the sure foundation,
Christ the Head and comer-stone,
chosen of the Lord, and precious,
binding all the church in one,
Holy Sion's help for ever,
and her confidence alone.6 All that dedicated city,
dearly loved of God on high,
in exultant jubilation
pours perpetual melody,
God the One in Three adoring
in glad hymns eternally.7 To this temple, where we call thee,
come, O Lord of Hosts, to-day;
with thy wonted loving-kindness
hear thy servants as they pray,
and thy fullest benediction
shed within its walls alway.8 Here vouchsafe to all thy servants
what they ask of thee to gain,
what they gain from thee for ever
with the blessed to retain,
and hereafter in thy glory
evermore with thee to reign.Doxology:
Laud and honour to the Father,
laud and honour to the Son,
laud and honour to the Spirit,
ever Three, and ever One,
consubstantial, co-eternal,
while unending ages run.

ОтветитьTenho muita simpatia pela Rainha Elizabeth.
ОтветитьQual é o nome dessa Igreja.Amo esses hinos.
ОтветитьOh gosh, such beautiful music. However, I must say that the Queen was required to do a lot of walking at her age.

ОтветитьÉmouvant.
ОтветитьDoes anyone know the name of the piece the organist was playing at the end of the hymn??
Ответить😊
ОтветитьGlad our church now meets every Lord's day. We are blessed 🙌
ОтветитьLove that descant!
ОтветитьGod bless UK.
ОтветитьLove this type of gospel song
ОтветитьFabulous - inspirational.
ОтветитьThis is actually the tune REGENT SQUARE, popular with both "God of grace and God of glory" and "Angels from the realms of glory."
ОтветитьDamn, there were a lot of black folk there that day.
ОтветитьGlorious! I love all the pomp and ceremony. There is such awe and reverence in services like this. Would love to know the what the was occasion for which this service was held.
ОтветитьBeautiful singing using this hymn tune (Regent Square) with descant and Amen ! Greetings from N.H.
ОтветитьIt flashes my mind back to these glorious years in the Choir .
I love singing .
I adore to listen these hymns from the time Iwas a kid for we areAnglicans
ОтветитьI LOVW ALL THESE CEREMONIES
ОтветитьI've noticed from all of these videos just how low church they are in the C of E. No incense, no bowing to the processional cross from anyone. No genuflecting. (They might as well be southern baptists by their behaviour!) Do they even bless themselves when the Trinity is spoken? I had no idea they were so low church, including the Royal Family (of all people!). I mean, the Queen is the head of the Church along with the Archbishop of Canterbury. What makes the liturgy feel higher is the music, with superb organ playing, the glorious descants and the state trumpeters. Another odd thing is that some of the women curtsy to the Queen and the men nod or bow their head briefly to the Queen in procession, yet the same people do not bow to the processional cross. It's as if they have more respect and reverence for the Queen than they do the cross and The Holy Trinity. We were taught in Anglican Confirmation Class that one bows to the processional crosses and at other times in the liturgy. I see none of that here.
ОтветитьI believe this was The Duke of Edinburgh’s final procession.
ОтветитьBeatiful hymn. Thank you for posting. Is that the Queen's scepter held by the woman just ahead of the Queen in procession? I've never noticed before. Thank you.
Ответить“Glory be to God the Father and to the Son and to the Holy Ghost”
ОтветитьRIP YOUR MAJESTY
ОтветитьWow this was beautiful. I’m not familiar with this one. I know the tune but as Angels From the Realms of Glory, a Christmas hymn.
ОтветитьTo the Tune of Angels From the Realms of Glory
ОтветитьThey should have played the tune “Westminster abbey” instead of regent square.
Ответитьtune: regent Square!
ОтветитьThe final verse of these hymns are just spectacular - organ (commanding), brass, vocal range. I would love to be there during such hymns to first hear, then sing. Wow!
ОтветитьWestminster Abbey (or the Collegiate Church of St Peter, Westminster to give it its correct title) is a "Royal Peculiar" under the jurisdiction of a Dean and Chapter, subject only to the Sovereign and not to any archbishop or bishop. In other words, the King or Queen calls the shots, not some lowly archbishop. 🙂
ОтветитьUnthreatened from NBI Torture what is it you doing from
ОтветитьSinging to the tune.... Regent Square
ОтветитьI will visit this Westminster Abbey church someday. What a glorious hymn!
ОтветитьSuch beautiful hymns it makes want to go back home. God Brings us back to a place where we can remember. Thanks be to God Almighty
ОтветитьBeautifully 🌹 kudos.

Blessed are thou Queen Elizabeth the Second, and blessed are thou Prince Philip;
