Great video! I love that you recommend books that might be a bit off the beaten path here stateside.

I have Swift River and would be interested in reading it soon!

I loved Boy with a Black Rooster - 5 stars! Rosarita was a bit too slight for me, but intriguing too. Now I am reading the Icelandic 'Your Absence Is Darkness' which fits the season perfectly as well.

The Garden Of Evening Mists is so beautiful, an all time favourite of mine. A slow and deep read.

Great recs...i really need to get to House of Doors as I keep hearing how great it is. I felt underwhelmed by Swift River...it had potential but the plot lacked a bit for me. Happy autumn! 🙂🍁🍂

Lovely video, thanks Eric, more to add to my Autumn TBR! I'm especially looking forward to reading Rosarita and Boy with a Black Rooster. I'm currently reading a book that I first heard of in your May book haul - Reading Lessons by Carol Etherton, which is wonderful and so perfect and cosy for a 'Back to School' read. I'm really looking forward to reading Wandering Stars after reading There There and loving it, also Axmans Carnival by Catherine Chidgey, The Bogwife, by Kay Chorister, on order from my library, sounds fascinating.😊

Thx - not much of a seasonal reader myself but am nearly done with Huck Finn, which I'm unexpectedly enjoying; should be start James early next week; and am looking forward to it, so thx!

Was very excited to find the biscuit tea is available in the US. The tea companies are honestly sleeping on not sponsoring you.

I'd love Dark Academia book recs from you as well as your book review on Possession by AS Byatt. It's Dark Academia and Booker Prize winner that warrants a video on its own!

What a great list! Ever since I read The House of Doors, I’ve been eager to read more books by Tan Twan Eng, so thanks for the reminder. And I have to find a box of that tea!!! Urgently!

So glad you are reading one of my favorite books Shadowplay. I had not read Dracula before Shadowplay and didn't understand it was written in somewhat the same style. Also it is perfect you are reading it now before Robert Eggers film Nosferatu comes out at the end of the year. (That is a plot point I won't spoil) By the way Shadowplay is listed as a work of fiction but all of the characters are real people. The Diva you mention is Ellen Terry, John Gielgud's Great Aunt. Also...one other cool think I discovered when writing a play on Twain and Shaw. Bram Stoker was both of these great writer's agent for a time in England.
