LA Protests LIVE: Police and Protesters CLASH, Streets ERUPT Over Immigration Crackdown | WION

On June 6, 2025, U.S. federal immigration authorities detained 44 individuals across various locations in Los Angeles, triggering widespread protests and clashes with law enforcement. The Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) raids targeted multiple sites, including Home Depot parking lots, a doughnut shop, and a clothing warehouse. Demonstrators gathered to oppose the detentions, leading to confrontations with riot police who used flashbang grenades and tear gas to disperse the crowds. Among those detained was David Huerta, president of SEIU California, who was arrested for impeding a federal agent. Local leaders, including Mayor Karen Bass and Governor Gavin Newsom, condemned the operations as politically motivated and harmful to immigrant communities. The LAPD emphasized its policy of non-participation in mass deportations and did not take part in the immigration enforcement actions.
