"The Bangalore Torpedo was 50' long and packed with 85 pounds of TNT and you assembled it along the way. By hand. I'd love to meet the asshole who invented it." The Big Red One [1980]

1987 training in the Philippines 3-1 Marines . I was the Corpsman standing by, but we were all a little too close in my opinion . Coming from the navy side , I assumed the blast would have been like a grenade, so I wasn’t braced, plus it went of earlier than expected. That shit actually lifted me off my feet.
I understand they don’t use those anymore, but I will never ever forget that name Bangalore Torpedo

Pretty much useless in today's warfare.

So is the entire length packed with explosives? Like each individual section? So it conceivable a person could use just one section, or is the entire 50' length necessary?

Now we will use it in Ukraine a lot. After constant russian mlrs shelling or termobaric shelling or phosphorus it looks like a joke.
