The Woodfall Films collaborator introduces his 1964 directorial debut, in which two very different roommates (Rita Tushingham and Lynn Redgrave) befriend a middle-aged writer (Peter Finch) and his attentions fall on the shy one.

Davis, who was the camera operator on A Taste of Honey, The Loneliness of the Long Distance Runner and Tom Jones, tells the BFI's Danny Leigh about his long career in film-making.
