Too bad they messed up bad by wiring through the outlet.
And to the other code monkeys out there, yes it's not expressly forbidden on single branch circuits, but it is a lazy jackass move that leads to me getting paid a lot of money to come fix it later.
I skipped the ground wire when I put in a new outlet because there was only 2 wires in the electric line.. what problem could it possibly cause? Where was the ground wire? I also skipped it on the light fixtures I installed, because once again, there was only 2 wires.. They were already installed that way with the old outlet and fixtures.
ОтветитьI didnt know that.
I've never wired a socket before either though.
He definitely doesn't know how to tail the neutral and the hot
ОтветитьThanks ! Learn every day
ОтветитьLol I've been an Electrician for a long time and I've never seen that one before. 👍🏼 I'll have to un-retire and do that. 😁
ОтветитьWhat!!! Are you serious? Of all the wires to sexure the ground was always the moat pain in the ass.
ОтветитьTeaching an old dog new trick there with that one. You thought I would have figured that out after this many years
Ответитьand he wraps it the wrong way
ОтветитьNow... take it off😂😂😂
ОтветитьI've never seen an outlet come with instructions.
ОтветитьNext thing he'll learn is the correct way to wrap a wire around a screw tightening it to the terminal because I'll bet you that's in the instructions too, maybe the next paragraph!
Ответитьthat hole doesn't exist on most outlets today. I'm more concerned about you using ROUND face outlets instead of the new Decora standard.
ОтветитьMust be a new feature.... none of my outlets have that hole.
ОтветитьNope, never knew!
Ответитьok, now I'm impressed
ОтветитьYou needed to wrap the other direction so the screw tighten doesn't unwind the loop!
ОтветитьThank you for showing me that
ОтветитьYou went the wrong way
ОтветитьLearn something new every day
ОтветитьIf you look closely, it is wrapped clockwise.
ОтветитьThe wire is supposed to be wrapped in the direction the screw tightens😊
ОтветитьYou can ALSO use a part of the side of the receptacle (after you put the hook around the screw), to pinch the hook closed (or almost) instead of having to use a tool to do it.
ОтветитьI'm so used to British sockets, when I see these I shiver. Exposed terminals with no spring retention, wrapping wires around a screw, no shutters, it's all just a bit... idk
ОтветитьEvery single person who is an electrician! However not all come with this 😂
ОтветитьI love the part where it bends the tab out of shape. 🤪
ОтветитьStill got it wrong the wrap is supposed to be clockwise
ОтветитьToo bad the neutrals are incorrectly landed
ОтветитьMe thank you father
ОтветитьHow many people knows he wrapped it the wrong way around the screw.
Always wrap in the direction the screw needs to tighten, aka clockwise, this way the screw grabs onto and pulls the wire tight around it.
If your reading directions your going around the screw the wrong way 😂😂😂😂😂😂
ОтветитьNew recepts don't have that
ОтветитьDeine Sprüche sind Gold, einfach witzig! Wer braucht schon eine Bedienungsanleitung? Ich bin doch Elektriker!!! 😅🤣😂😅🤣😂
ОтветитьI'll just crimp it shut like the others
Ответитьyes, ofcourse
ОтветитьGood but wrap the other direction!!😮
ОтветитьBeen an electrician for 36 years and didnt know that .
ОтветитьLearn something new everyday.
ОтветитьI would discard the receptacle.
ОтветитьThanks for that information 👍 😂😅
ОтветитьSupposed to b green. Im just the plumber and even i know that
Ответитьwrapped it the wrong direction, CCW instead of CW
ОтветитьNot all duplex outlets have them.
ОтветитьDamn it!!!!!!
ОтветитьPretty sure they still have the wire stripper function atleast the ones ive used recently😂
ОтветитьWho wraps their wires counterclockwise ?
Ответитьi knew about the wire stripper.
ОтветитьI did know that, but I don’t use it. Not sure where my retardation kicks in exactly, but I can never do this as smooth as these videos and just curl it myself, which is literally an extra 2 seconds
ОтветитьNever knew....
