In the ICW instead of trying to remember North-Green-Starboard (which is actually false on the west coast of FL) and a lot to remember even for me, I just remember that the red triangles always are on the mainland side of the channel. Red is dark and looks like sand/clay so it reminds me that red represents the mainland side of the channel and I should stay on the ocean side of that marker in the ICW. Green is a lighter color and the color of ocean up here in stuart sometimes so that represents the ocean side of the channel and I should be staying on the mainland side of that marker.
ОтветитьGoing north the square must be to your right.
ОтветитьJust remember the triangle red are on the land side. Square green on ocean side.

ОтветитьIf the channel marker is already square or triangle why is the yellow decal needed?

ОтветитьGot to stay on your right :P

ОтветитьCaptain, The square marker should be on your starbord or right hand side when heading north. Thanks for the great video it was very informative.
ОтветитьStarboard Headed north
ОтветитьLeft
ОтветитьGreen marker on the Right side as you head north.
ОтветитьComming north green box on the right red trangle on the left???? Going south red trangle on the right green box on the left??? In between can i have a shirt did i do o.k???
ОтветитьRight-because you are headed north on the east side of fl.
ОтветитьWhen counting forward:
-Green squares with the odd numbers are on the left.
-Red triangles with the even numbers are on the right.
Left side, thanks for the info
ОтветитьStarboard side green going north
ОтветитьStarboard
ОтветитьSo, what if you're on the West Coast are the triangles and the squares still the same side of the boats while heading south or north as opposed to what they might be on the East Coast going south and north?
ОтветитьAmericans are like Brits on the road... all messed up. How the f right can be red?
ОтветитьTypical America has to be different to the rest of the world. Everywhere else, Green to Green when going upstream. green to Red when seas are ahead.
ОтветитьThe right side. Green light green side. Go home. Ti hope. Not sure.
ОтветитьTo answer the question on the video. The green channel markers should be on the port (left) side of your boat.
ОтветитьIm always in deep water , my boats name is in too deep , then later i saw someone elses boat with the same name ..and that guy made some good videos about fixing up a big liveaboard

ОтветитьSeeing standing birds is a good indicator that you’re no longer in the channel.
ОтветитьI am glad that you mentioned at the beginning that these navigation markers are for US waters Which are reversed elswhere. Many US channels do not. If ANY US sailor went overseas , they'd end up coliding with other ships Here in OZ? you enter a channel Starboard to green
ОтветитьTell your dad a fellow Virginia says hi. Richmond here.
ОтветитьStarboard side. Omg I’ve never won anything before! What did I win?!?!
Ответитьred, right, return FROM SEA!
You have to make that last point, it's extremely important
✅️ right
ОтветитьGreen square should be on right because u are going in to pick up your dad red triangle stay to the left
ОтветитьThanks very helpful!
ОтветитьinTRAcoastal. not inTERcoastal. if youre traveling the intracoastal the triangles on dayboards will always on on the CONTINENTAL side of the waterway and the squares will always be on the OCEAN side of the waterway. RRR only applies when entering or leaving an inland body of water, i.e. coming back from sea or going out to sea.
ОтветитьStarboard
ОтветитьThe little stickers are reflective for night time . Pointed cones are red , square top are green for you color blind folks . Dont hug too close to the bouys because some are actually in shallow water so leave some space from them . Also bad storms can shift bouy locations a considerable distance , so watch your charts after a bad storm
ОтветитьJust moved to Hobe Sound, love your channel!
ОтветитьHere's a hint for you guys. These videos are great but you should say that this is for the US waterways because it;s the exact opposite in other countries in the world.
ОтветитьRight side
ОтветитьRight square going north starboard
