Tigres UANL reach final after beating Club America on penalties | 2019 Leagues Cup

A last-minute own goal evened the score 2-2 between Tigres UANL and Club America and Tigres won the ensuing penalty shootout to advance to the final of the Leagues Cup. Tigres opened the scoring when Jurgen Damm’s cross deflected off Paul Aguilar for an own goal. Andres Ibarguen leveled the score from the spot, before putting America ahead in the 83rd minute. Miguel Herrera's men couldn’t keep their composure to see out the match though, with Roger Martinez getting sent off for violent conduct and Bruno Valdez heading the ball over goalkeeper Oscar Jimenez in the final seconds. In the shootout Leonel Lopez’s effort was saved by Nahuel Guzman, before Carlos Salcedo stepped up to seal the comeback-win for Tigres.
