I found a tiny caution with benfotiamine: for me it made me really sleepy. So, suggest it be a bedtime dose.
ОтветитьAwesome share Dr. Arsala !! Thank you!!
ОтветитьI'm sold. I just took my first dose today. 😀 my Mother-in-law has done alot of research on this.
ОтветитьImportant question: is Benfotiamine supplementation still beneficial in the presence of non-diabetic neuropathy, even where there is no B1 deficiency (confirmed via lab test)?
ОтветитьLove Thiamine and Allithiamine !
Hate Benfotiamine !
Can I get your take on any interactions it may have with GABA supplementation, please and thank you.

ОтветитьI’ve been taking this for over a year. I recently was diagnosed with CMT, having known for 20 years that I have neuropathy I have, at this point have found no improvement in my situation. I haven’t given up hope at this point but I’d be lying if I wasn’t a bit disappointed.

ОтветитьBendfotiamine ...can cause SEVERE INFLAMMATION IN SOME HUMANS !!!!
ОтветитьThank you sir
ОтветитьDoctor, I have a question. If the Thiamine does resolve issues, does that mean I will have to take it for the rest of my life? I assume I was deficient of B1 due to 10 years of alcohol abuse. My issue was I was a WEEKEND ONLY binge drinker. For the most part, i wouldn’t really have much food the entire weekend either, if I did it was junk food. I am almost 13 months alcohol free and that will remain for a lifetime. I have 0 interest in drinking anymore. But I am trying to get my body better. When I quit drinking, I didnt have ANY withdrawal symptoms due to not being dependent on it. I drank on the weekends simply for boredom, which was dumb. My symptoms included EXTREME fatigue, depression, anxiety, STRESS, occasional chest pain, tingling sensation in my face, concentration issues, extreme constipation (some bleeding due to constipation) and a few others but those are the main ones. I think the years of alcohol abuse stripped my body of vital nutrients and minerals so my body is screwed up. The vitamins I just ordered are D3+k2, B1 + benfotiamime, magnesium, b complex, multivitamin and collagen powered (with all types). I am still waiting on my D3 to be delivered, although that’s actually a hormone. So my question is will I have to take b1 for the rest of my life? I also fast 7 days a week. 22/2. I fast for a few reasons. 1 for health but mainly when I eat during the day, i feel EXTREMELY even MORE fatigued and sluggish. I did have ADHD as a child (not currently medicated) so that could be where the concentration issues are coming from. I only ask bc I am really bad about forgetting to take my vitamins everyday. I need to also get my vitamin levels tested as well as my hormones. My last doctor i seen wouldnt order the test for me. She only did a CBC, Metabolic panel, B12 and thyroid check. She said everything came back normal and all my organs are functioning normal, which is awesome considering my years of binge drinking. I am HOPING the B1 and D3+k2 in addition to the rest of my vitamins resolve my issue. I never knew d3 and b1 could cause constipation and fatigue and all that. I have been taking mirilax for the past 2 years just to use the bathroom but as of 3-4 weeks ago, it seems it’s not working as good. Any thoughts?
ОтветитьThank you for sharing your wisdom with everyone I've have been taking benfortiamine for over a month now & hearing about how this helps with vitamin B1 is awsome but my thinking process is a little slow & messed up when trying to organize things in the garden or meal preparation so I'm wondering what is going on with me ,please help ,please
ОтветитьI suspect that hemochromatosis inhibits the uptake of B1. Symptoms like functional apnea, swelling in the ankles, fatigue, brain fog, and slower metabolism due to nerve impairment are some of the symptoms.
ОтветитьWhat are your thoughts on benfotiamine as part of a supplement mixed with alpha lopoic acid?
ОтветитьWow thank you, I have peripheral neuropathy, no energy and cognitive decline. I did research which led me to Vit B1. However using the Benfotiamine sounds much better. I will ask my pharmacist.😀
ОтветитьHell my doctor wouldn't know what befothiamine is.......
ОтветитьMeaning of hemochromatosis
ОтветитьDoc is magnesium depleting B1???If you take it as a supplement ?
ОтветитьFYI. This contains sulfur. If you are allergic to this, use caution. I broke out in hives
ОтветитьWill share shortly after one month
ОтветитьLet's be real most allopathic (conventionally trained physicians) know nothing about supplements. They are not trained in natural remedies for good reason. Big pharma has convinced the world that only drugs can help to maintain health for a diabetic person. Knowledge is power do your own research, which is precisely how I came across Benfotiamine. And while I am at it, what are YOUR credentials? Calling yourself “Dr.” means NOTHING nowadays because everybody and his mother takes this title. Originally, it ONLY applied to scholars. (It comes from Latin and it means teacher.) So list your credentials please. My blood sugar dropped about half from the use of Benfotiamine. By the way I am a doctor too by the first meaning of the word. (Ph.D.). Otherwise yours is a useful presentation.
ОтветитьLove your enlightment on benfotiamine. I am from Indonesia
ОтветитьYour family doctor will not have no option or a clue about benfotiamine, don’t understand why you tubers always say ask your doctor?
ОтветитьDear Doctor..i have been poisoned after Levofloxacin 10 days I.V treatment..All my joints become swell with severe pain & disability..can i take benfotamine for this
ОтветитьBefore i found about my b1 defeciency The Lord showed me in a dream to start eating the little round squash pumpkins. I did'nt know why. When I found out I needed b1 I googled foods rich in b1. To my amazement it showed the specific pumpkins. I eat one and a half a day and I am fine. When I ask Him about other meds, He says if I wanted you to take it I would have told you so.. I am really fine!!
ОтветитьI don’t have diabetes but I’ve had all the nerve symptoms mentioned, Benfotiamine has been a life saver🙏🏽💓
ОтветитьAs I understand from your video Dr. Arsalan (thank you).., Benfotiamine is for symptomatic relief and as such should not be considered a cure. Evidently there is still more work as not much empirical data exists. Do we know if it addresses neuropathy, say in a diabetics' feet in such a way to halt further neuropathic damage? I take 300mg Benfotiamine a day.
ОтветитьThank you
ОтветитьHelps all nerve damage from disease. I take 1000 mg
ОтветитьForget about looking at the
" science version " and stick to the logic
In the battle between Synthetic vs natural ,
The Natural sources for B1 are ALWAYS the better solution .
Synthetic products are all about cutting corners which may show better results in the short term but not the long term
* THANK YOU DOC BUT YOU DID NOT SAY HOW MUCH TO TAKE , * 120 LBS, 65 YEARS OLD,

ОтветитьI've been taking it for a month. Only good things to report! No more brain fog, more energy, sleep better, etc.
Only downside is; about 2 hours after taking, I better be near a bathroom! I murder a toilet.
I'm a type 2 diabetic but I'm treating with supplements and exercise. So far I'm winning
what to do if your stomach gets burned from b1 supplements
ОтветитьDr,
Can you share the buying link?
Cant take Thiamine, feel awful on it. No problem when i take benfotiamine....
ОтветитьYour recommendation for benfotiamine has become invalid. Can you update it please ?
ОтветитьCan someone please tell me why B1 makes my backside sweat?
ОтветитьDepleted b1 can cause anxiety, heart palpitations too. Our modern diet with high carb intake means many are deficient
ОтветитьHi doctor, please help me, EVERYDAY i have some nerve symptoms as severe brain fog, muscle weakness, hands shaking, cold sweat, cold intolerance, dry lips and throat, needles at fingers…… How long supplementing benfotiamine before seeing any improvement? Ответить72 year old male here, living in Switzerland. Have been eating low carbs since 1972 (Atkins - <50gr/day) and since around 2017 very low carbs (<25gr/day) . 188cm and currently (and for the last 5 years) 105kg.
I was diagnosed in 1999 with idiopathic peripheral neuropathy. Twice again in 2013. I was also diagnosed with diabetes Type 2 in 2014 (provoked through Spiricort given to suppress symptoms of Polymyalgia Rheumatica) and had a heart attack in 2018. For neuropathic pain relief I was started on Gabapentin and Cymbalta. Because of horrid cognitive side effects, Cymbalta was switched out for Effexor. Unfortunately, these cognitive side effects didn't stop, so I stopped using them.
I take the following for diabetes and cardio:
Ezetimib/Rosuvstatin-Mepha 10 mg/10 mg – 1-0-0-0 (Di,Fr,So)
Forxiga 5 mg – 1-0-0-1
Aspirin Cardio 100 mg – 1-0-0-0
(Metfin 1000 mg – ½-½-0-1 – stopped as of end of March 2024, see below)
Since about 2015 I've been taking INSTEAD of the Cymbalta/Effexor & Gabapentin:
R-Lipoic Acid 300 (240) mg – 1-0-1-1
Acetyl-L-Carnitine 750 mg – 0-1-0-1
N-Acetyl Cysteine (NAC) 1000 mg – 1-0-1-0
Omega 3 (fish oil) 1000 mg – 1-0-1-0
Magnesium 100 mg – 1-1-1-1
I'd been taking Metformin since 2014 with sporadic GI distress and just recently tried Berberine together with Metformin, which at first drastically didn't agree with my gastro-intestinal tract. Since stopping Metformin end of March 2024 - and as soon as stopping Metformin, my GI problems stopped cold – I started taking Myo-Inositol/D-Chiro-Inositol (40:1 ratio) instead of Metformin as well as Dihydroberberine (Done with knowledge and approval of my GP). Fasting sugar levels before lunch and dinner are now between 6.2-6.8. HbA1c will be measured the end of June as well as LDL, triglycerides, both of which, the literature shows, are often reduced by both berberine and inositol.
These measures above have helped some to relieve neuropathic discomfort. I came to use these through exclusionary processes. IOW, I'd take a substance for a while, noting sensations. Then I'd stop and see what happens. These above “passed” this exclusionary process. If I noticed an increase in severity of symptoms when stopping a substance, I could conclude, that it was actually helpful when I was taking it. They also ALL have good empirical (peer reviewed, often double-blind placebo trials) track records to show for themselves.
I then added B1 Benfotiamine starting on 15.08.2023, which helped greatly, most overt pain gone, but numbness still prevalent but receding, started mid-thighs, now (posting date) mid-ankles.
On September 5, 2023 I added the following:
B6 Pyridoxal-5-Phosphate P5P (NOT Pyridoxine HCL) 50mg 1-1-0-0
B7 Biotin 5 mg 1-0-0-0
B9 (6S)-5-Methyltetrahydrofolate acid 1.7 mg 1-1-1-0
B12 Methylcobalamin 1500 mcg 1-1-1-0
N.B. The above dosages of neurotropic B vitamins (B1, B6, B7, B9, B12) are so-called "load dosages", designed to start the pain reduction process. My neurologist and I decided to start adjusting to a "maintenance dosage" starting in July 2024, very gradually reducing the dosages until the symptoms start to return. The literature shows, that in about 50% of the subjects tested, a nerve regeneration process can be measured, for example through electro conductivity tests. Unfortunately for the other 50% not. BUT almost all reported massive reduction of pain and discomfort, whether or not regeneration takes place. And it was also determined, that after completion of the studies, those who continued to take the vitamins had no recurring pain/discomfort, whereas those who stopped did once again experience pain/discomfort. So, like Cymbalta/ Effexor & Gabapentin, this is for indefinite use, but without the horrid side effects.
