I definitely recognize the signs

For anyone going through hard times, keep listening to everything around you. It's so easy to shut off when you're feeling tired with the world. I was in the middle of my transformation when the lockdowns hit. The 2 years before I had started getting scaled back at work and my ex wife separated from me. Old friends found it easier to just not engage, then when she left for good, so did they. I was alone. An island of a man. But I found that grit at the bottom. At one point I was so in tune that I no longer felt like I was living on time, rather like I was ahead of time. I built myself up, learnt new skills, followed unlikely paths and found peace with a new version of myself. I started building a recording studio and transitioning my photography career to align with that goal. But as the lockdowns hit weeks, months, I lost it all again. In the middle of all that my mum also died of an aortic dissection and I had to perform CPR on her for 30 minutes while the ambulance crews took their time for 15 of those 30 minutes putting on white paper suits. Then I lost the studio for good. At that point I gave up. I didn't want to shovel that grit anymore. I took the path of least resistance and it rotted me into something I no longer recognise. It felt like the universe stopped speaking to me after giving up. And now I'm regretting that moment. Don't fall into it. Keep going! I beg you to keep going! I've realised that the universe never stopped speaking. I stopped listening. I recognise the signs now, and I'm building back. Albeit at a slower rate.
