i have the same problem ... my jazz bass sounds way to shiney raw ... but in the mix it goes all jaco ... how can i get the raw bass to sound more jaco >? i have of course fiddled around with all the controls , rolled off trble , boosted mids ., played near the bridge , used a 15" speaker ..cut the nails on my right hand ( never doing THAT again !!) using a fender jazz american elite thru a helix into a leech 15" bass reflex bin and a HH 15/horn pa cab with a dean markley amp set clean at 300W
