This is a great tool too have. Thanks for sharing! When you delete a file you are actually just turning on code that says don't read this. This program just turns the read switch back on. To wipe/erase a file completely you have to overwrite it with something else in that space.

Windows to Windows will work because of same file formats. This video enforces the good habits to get into, backup all files before you do anything if they mean anything to you. I still have backups of files from 10 years ago. I have a 2TB & 1TB HDD just for backups, files I really need get backed up to both drives so I have the original and two backups.

if the delete is performed on a Mac, use a mac program to recover. Thanks for posting most folks would blow their top maybe even an artery before finding out they can recover their files.

This only wotks if you do a restore immediatly after deletion. Wrtting of any files after detion of the original files will corrupt the others.

Ahhh, Not mentioned in the title description is, “for Windoze users”. A thumb down for me.

I'll bet that many of the students I worked with back in college would have liked that program. Sadly, that was about 38 years ago, so they didn't even have USB drives. We worked with floppy disks. My first year in college (Autumn 1983), I was so far ahead of everyone else in the class that the instructor had me help run the computer lab for him. I remember some of the students taking hours to write a simple "Hello, World!" program, even in BASIC. To help them along, I came up with a short poem and put a copy of it on the wall of the computer room. It read "When your program looks complete, now press Alt Control Delete." For some strange reason, the instructor didn't seem to see a lot of humor in it, while I thought it was funny as hell.

Good information. But I think were all getting a tired of waiting for the mandatory use of "Awesome" Its not required and boring, may well stop subscribing because of this.

hi! I'm actually having a hard time now with Recuva.. I can recover different dates of photos and videos randomly but im looking for a specific file.. I took videos last July 30 and i thought i already copy paste it to my laptop then i deleted it that day tru my laptop while my fujifilm camera is still wired... After deleting it, my SD CARD is totally wiped out. Aug 1, I created new videos.. and when I opened Recuva I can only recover videos but not JULY 30 video.. I'm just so confused now. hoping u can help me!
