1) Gender was represented commonly as how society typically views men and women, especially in the context of marriage. The wife dresses very femininely, wearing a body-hugging dress and looking very formal while the husbands are depicted as more laid back and simple.

2) This commercial gives the impression that wives SHOULD know how to cook delicious food such as Bicol Express. This was emphasised even more as the husband leans in and whispers, "kaka-bilib," which to me appears to mean that the wife is only impressive in the sense that she was able to cook his friend's missed dish. The wife also obviously just entered the home, possibly coming home from work and she is expected to be able to cook right away while the husband and his friend are sitting together and relaxing while waiting for dinner to be prepared. These kinds of commercials make gender representation very narrow, and even terrible for women.
