ive known it’s pronounced ark-ee-us bc silvally is like a manmade arceus and it uses the “RKS” system, but i still say ar-see-us and i will be happily wrong
ОтветитьI always thought I said dewpider wrong because it was fun to say like that, who could've guessed it was correct
ОтветитьListen, RuiNicklus is my favorite pokemon, but I’m rejecting that proposed pronunciation.
ОтветитьFor Mienfoo, I've always pronounced it "Mee- ehn- foo" but when you say it all together, it's more like myehn foo. I was so surprised that both of you pronounced the ie like Ī
ОтветитьThere was a girl that called Rayquaza Ray-KRAY-zu
Ответитьi say it ME-EN-foo
Ответитьwelp drink ip because im pretty sure thats how its pronounced
edit: i was right
most people i know call it zah-shee-uhn
Ответитьits me-en-foo so i got confused
ОтветитьThis was an amazing video! The play along aspect, the laughs at the answers. Thank you very much for brightening my day!
Ответить...The way all of the Mienfoo options pissed me off..
Me-En-Foo.
Me-En-Foo.
Myen-foo, is the correct answer, and it's said, Me-En-Foo, or Me-Yen-Foo. Not My-En-Foo.
Xenoblade Chronicles 2 fans all knew Aegislash right away! The EE-Jis!!!!
ОтветитьI always imagined illumise as a little European girls from like France or Spain or something so I’ve always pronounced it “right”
ОтветитьI got, like, most of these right. The only two I remember that are absolutely incorrect are reuniclus and ferrothorn. The rest of them, yeah. That's how I've understood them to be pronounced based either on language context clues or other people
ОтветитьEasiest thumbnail ever: AR-koos, RAZZ-uh-quazz, and Reh-GHEE-say.
ОтветитьI had one of those books (up to usum) and I would just read it like there was a surprise test
Ответитьi say zaw cian and illumi say
ОтветитьActually it's "Toj-demaru"
ОтветитьFor Illumise: I have to be completely honest when I say that I have pronounced it as EE-loom-MEE-zay before and will probably do so again 😅
ОтветитьWell I’m DEW-pih-done
ОтветитьIt’s funny because in Australia, we say these the way Scolastic thinks they should be except Farigaraf…
ОтветитьSo I have definitely always said
Zah-shee-uhn. 😂
Aegislash's name is pronouned that way because of the mythical shield Aegis [Ee-jis]
ОтветитьI usually pronounce it Re-yoo-NEE-klus
ОтветитьI pronounce it like it's said vih-vil-leon, because that feels right to me, even though there isn't any other vowel after the l's. It's a habit at this point, because i read it wrong.
ОтветитьNaganadel is inspired by German. "Nadel" is just "needle" 😅
ОтветитьI actually almost aced this I got 1 wrong 🫨
ОтветитьWill just repeatedly asking “why would they do that?” Is a mood lmfao
Ответитьmy whole life i prounced ratata as “ratta-tatta” because i have a SEVERE issue with repetitive letters. and i stand by that
ОтветитьAfter looking up the anime for most of these im starting to realise this book is more legitimate than poketubers. Zacian, reuniclus, and swablu are all pronounced how it says in the anime. They are canon
ОтветитьWait...have people actually been saying zay-CHIN?! I have always pronounced it, and only heard it, as ZAH-shee-in.
I have said both ill-LOOM-ise and I-loo-MEE-zay, but I-loom-MEE-zay is what I've known as correct for a few years now.
illumise is literally just the english pronunciation of the japanese name, irumize.
Ответитьar-KOOS
ОтветитьSo Raikou is pronounced that way, because that is the japanese name, and that is the English spelling of the word
ОтветитьAlmost all legendaries and mythicals take their names directly from the Japanese translation, just romanized most of the time. Most of the legendary pronunciations use the original Japanese vowel sounds.
ОтветитьI've always been annoyed by people who pronounce Vivillon with an L sound. Like, it's so clearly French-y. There's NO WAY it's supposed to be pronounced with the sound of an L. I get that I might know a bit more about French pronunciation than some people, but this can't be that obscure of knowledge when it's so known and obvious for random southwestern American me.
ОтветитьDo either of you know ANYTHING about language conventions?
ОтветитьEvery time I see Rayquaza pronunciation confusion it makes me giggle because my name is literally Aza (Ay-zah) so im used to saying Ray-kway-zah!
ОтветитьTheir pronunciation of ferrothorn makes no sense. In latin it is ferrous, meaning related to or containing iron. They just removed the us, so really is should have a e sound not an a sound, so should be more like fe reh thorn.
ОтветитьI was so blown away by some of these that I had to look up clips from the anime and all of them were RIGHT!
ОтветитьAegislash is said that way in the anime as well
ОтветитьRaikou comes from Japanese- "Rai" meaning thunder or lightning and "ou" meaning king
Ответитьraikou was obvious to me, in some asian language like Mandarin, Japanese, etc. kou is pronounced koh
Ответитьboys go to jupiter to get more dewpider
ОтветитьITS ARKOOS DAMN IT!
Ответить
