I got, like, most of these right. The only two I remember that are absolutely incorrect are reuniclus and ferrothorn. The rest of them, yeah. That's how I've understood them to be pronounced based either on language context clues or other people

I pronounce it like it's said vih-vil-leon, because that feels right to me, even though there isn't any other vowel after the l's. It's a habit at this point, because i read it wrong.

After looking up the anime for most of these im starting to realise this book is more legitimate than poketubers. Zacian, reuniclus, and swablu are all pronounced how it says in the anime. They are canon

Wait...have people actually been saying zay-CHIN?! I have always pronounced it, and only heard it, as ZAH-shee-in.
I have said both ill-LOOM-ise and I-loo-MEE-zay, but I-loom-MEE-zay is what I've known as correct for a few years now.

illumise is literally just the english pronunciation of the japanese name, irumize.

Almost all legendaries and mythicals take their names directly from the Japanese translation, just romanized most of the time. Most of the legendary pronunciations use the original Japanese vowel sounds.

I've always been annoyed by people who pronounce Vivillon with an L sound. Like, it's so clearly French-y. There's NO WAY it's supposed to be pronounced with the sound of an L. I get that I might know a bit more about French pronunciation than some people, but this can't be that obscure of knowledge when it's so known and obvious for random southwestern American me.

Every time I see Rayquaza pronunciation confusion it makes me giggle because my name is literally Aza (Ay-zah) so im used to saying Ray-kway-zah!

Their pronunciation of ferrothorn makes no sense. In latin it is ferrous, meaning related to or containing iron. They just removed the us, so really is should have a e sound not an a sound, so should be more like fe reh thorn.

I was so blown away by some of these that I had to look up clips from the anime and all of them were RIGHT!

Aegislash is said that way in the anime as well

Raikou comes from Japanese- "Rai" meaning thunder or lightning and "ou" meaning king

raikou was obvious to me, in some asian language like Mandarin, Japanese, etc. kou is pronounced koh
