They should stay in jail.. They claim abuse, but yet they where 18 and 21 and could have left home at anytime..
But because they loved that money more then their parents they murdered them to get the parents money and went on a spending spree.
There are thousands of abused children who walk away and leave abusive parents when they are of age, so don't give me no guff, Oh they couldn't just walk away..

Oh let them GO already!! They were so young and they were in there a very long time. More than 25 to life..they paid their debt to society. I regularly see serial killers, drug dealers and child molesters get slaps on the wrists compared to these guys. Give people a chance to change, move on, heal. Jose and Kitty were monstrous parents to their two defenceless children. Dad Jose was a predatory paedophile, as confirmed by at least one other, unconnected victim of his sexual assaults. He sexually abused both his sons for many years, and mom Kitty turned a blind eye and enabled her husband's disgusting rapes on her little boys.

It was Kitty who loved that lavish Beverly Hills lifestyle - so much so, she was even willing to sacrifice her own children's safety and happiness for it! So it's ironic prosecutors painted the sons as materialistic and argued their motive for the two murders was simple greed. Anyone with critical thinking skills knew there had to be a lot more to it than that!

Predictably the horrors the brothers faced night after night, without any decent, caring adult to turn to for help, created a strong bond between them. No one condones murder. But the full context of this crime puts a very different complexion on it. Erik and Lyle were very young - they are now grown men, different people who have used their three decades in prison to do positive, unselfish things and to start projects to help others in custody.


They have served 30 years for a crime that is fully explained - though of course not excused - by the chronic, long-term sexual abuse they suffered at the hands of their parents, the two people who should have loved them, and kept them safe. The brothers have more than paid their debt to society. They lost their entire youth - isn't that enough? To make them remain in jail for even one more year, would be a cruel miscarriage of justice.

They deserve to be free. It’s not like they got away with it. 35 years is enough time considering the mitigation.

No the hearing for December 11 is going to be taking place on January 30 of 2025.

Extremely dysfunctional family! Even if the main act could be justified by abuse it looks to me like greed was an underlying motive. At least the brothers spent a lot of money to ease their grief. I believe most anything and have a soft heart but I believe greed was a big part of the motive. It is a nasty story with no forgivable elements. Or to use the words of Gypsy Rose Blanchard, a woman who masterminded her mother's death and is now paroled, "I'm living my best life!" The brothers surely seemed to be living their best lives after the terrible crime and that, to me, is a nauseating, creepy factor.

At this point, I don't think the brothers are a threat to anyone and release on lifetime parole would do no harm. Harsh and public punishments do not seem to deter major crimes. I doubt wannabe family annihilators have ever stopped and thought, 'I don't want to get life without parole like the Menendez brothers.'

The mother Is indefensible. She was just as bad as the father. She knew about the SA of her sons. Kitty's sister said she told her she knew. She was horribly abusive as well

Gypsy Rose premediated for years and lie and she is free. Her mother was murdered when she was not a threat.

Killers get out of prison every year after less than 30 years. Haters get over it.

I always wondered 'why don't the boys move out when they were adults? Why did they wait for Dad to come in their room? Only reason I could come up with was they wanted the $ more than they hated the rapes.

If they get out, every one who has been in prison for 35 years is gonna cry "oh woe is me, i deserve to get out cuz i been here long enough." The lady who strapped her kids in the car and drive them in to a lake is trying the same crap. Its BS. Make them serve the time they were given.

Killers are set free every year for worse crimes after 10, 15, 20, 25, 30 years. Ped+ophiles are just given a slap in the wrist and hardly ever go to jail for more than 10 years.

They were given everything material and they were still too young to earn their own money or to know how to make money. They didnt have the knowkedge or skills to make more money or even keep the money they already had. They wouldnt have known how to maintain their fortune without their father. The idea that they kill for money makes no sense at all. Why Kill the person who is generating the money when You don't know anything about finances??? If You want money why to kill the person who is providing You the money when You dont know how to make money lol

What pisses me off is the RIGGED SECOND TRIAL. In my opinion CONN's a CON and a biased judge colluded to stitch up the verdict they wanted in the rigged second trial by FOUL means bec they couldnt get a verdict by FAIR means in first trial. They did this by EXCLUDING most of the SA evidence and not allowing manslaughter.Jurors said they would have voted differently had they seen this EXCLUDED SA evidence.

This case has dug up lots of bullys coming out of the woodwork, randomly parroting hateful ignorant slogans on clips about the case. "They were grown ass man, should have left, "did it out of greed", "should rot in jail", "were never abused", "lots of people were abused, it's no excuse" and so on. They never watch or comment on the actual content, any circumstances and context, never educate themselves first on the case or seem interested to do so. Their illogical arguments have been addressed millions of times, but they can't move on from media gossip of 3 decades ago. Reminds me of Pam the prosecution and her line of arguments "boys can't be raped because they lack the necessary equipment". It was an offence to every intelligent human being! But it worked on some parts of society....i would say: ignorance is no excuse!

Lylie was no longer living in the house, he just came back for his brother, the one being raped until 18 years old was Erik who didn't have the mental maturity of an 18 years old but of a younger child of 12 or 13 years old according to experts. He was very afraid of his father. There are many women killed by their abusers /rapists and cannot run away from them either because they are afraid. Many ears of psychological, sexual and physical abuse since childhood profoundly affects the brain Erik was in the same position of an abused woman. He was toying with the idea of killing his father or killing himself. Their mother was killed because She told them days before the murders that she had always known about the abuse but didn't care and was still siding with her husband. She didnt want to help them. There are many parents who rape and murder their own children.

Isnt it a crazy thought that the therapist could "feel" a threat through one handshake but the brothers couldn't feel threatened over years of abuse to the point you literally snap. ?? Humm

You're forgetting their parents are very powerful, influential people who are capable of many illegal acts without ramification i.e. rape of Menudo band members who were a popular band at the time - if they left their parents would have just easily found them and their father already threatened to kill them if they told anyone since they were 6 years old

Do 55 year old men, normally date 21 year old women, IF THEY WERE VICTIMS OF SA? He is behaving like a predator. Zero evidence that any abuse was going on. They were old enough to leave. They made sure Kitty was dead because Dad's money would go to her, not the 2 murderer's. They are arrogant and have no remorse of killing the parents. Letting them out, would be a huge mistake. They did it, you can't go around killing people who wrong you. Ridiculous people thinking they don't deserve to be right where they are!

I don't get the hype. Standart sentence for double homicide in California is 50 to life. Even if the murder of Jose could be argued to be a manslaughter, mothers murder doesn't fit in. She was no threat to them without the father. If the brothers were smart and resourceful enough to plan the murder and alibi, they could've planed their escape from the parents. There is always a better way than murder

The mother also participated in the abuse.. she was not innocent either, she has enabled her husband instead of protecting her children

I really don't think they should be set free. I believe it was money motivated. The letter could have been to cover their tracks. One of them had been involved in robberies.

they planned out the murders!! they watched the movie " the billionare's club" and got ideals to kill their parents!! before that happened, both brothers went on robbery spree in the beverly hills neighborhood and their father jose was diappointed in them for doing that. he made them give back what they stoled and dad wrote out a check for everyone of the neighbors. the father told both of them they were off his will and thats when the brothers decided to kill both parents. they never told their DR Oziel about the abuse they claimed happened to them when they should have told him he would have reported it to police and the dad would be in prison and both parents would be alive today and the brothers would have never went to prision like they are now. they were spoiled and rebellious children who got what they wanted the dad wanted them to do things on their own like go to college but they didnt want to do that. they want to live off the parents coattails. they did an overkill on their parents. it was all for greed!! when barbara walters interviewd both brothers they said they still loved and miss their parents and if they could do it again, they would have walked out of the house. when the coroner picked up the body of Jose, his brains fell off the ground. the mother teeth were shattered off her mouth... there no excuse to murder your parents! God says to honor your parents. i dont care what they did or sad you still honor them. like i said they should have walked out of the mansion and go elsewhere!! where was their other family members if what both brothers sai was true why didnt they help the brothers? now they want to on TV and blah blah blah whatever!! i think the brothers are lying about the abuse they were mad when the father took them off the will and as for menudo why didnt he say anything about it earlier? why? because they are all lying about it. its all hearsay!! both were adults not children!! alot of kids are SA and you dont see them kill their parents!! stop with the abuse excuse!!
