✌ since 1909.
How old is Crescent?
The Model "T" came out in 1908.
Then the tool was valled the Adjustable Wrench.
Unless it had another name prior to its American Slang Name.
(The Crescent Wrench?)

Do you have any Wards Power Kraft tools? Would love to see a series about them.

Enjoyed your adjustable wrench series. You should send that wrench as gift to the Car Wizard. 😎 When I was a kid in the early 60's I got some of my first tools from Western Auto for working on my bikes. In fact, my first new bike came from there. Can't say I can remember the Wizard name.

Western Auto was a great (franchise?) chain. I mean, parts and tools were good, but it was like a mail order hardware store as well. As kids, our wagon, bikes, and sleds all came from there.

About 57 years ago i began my grass cutting career with a Wizard lawn mower. Western Auto's Wizard brand was a very good mid level quality American tool line. I loved those Western Auto stores. It was a good hardware type store with kids toys, firearms & appliances too. They were of course mainly in smaller towns across America. Like so many American merchants of yesteryear you could put things on "layaway" and pay down on it until paid off. Then of course they went into the credit business beginning in the late 60's which started a very bad trend in our society that is just about to catch up with us. Another great job Catus minimus!!

Hello again Catus Maximus and Tiny
Thank you for another Great Video. And thank you for remembering Western Auto Stores. What good memories I have being with my Father and either getting the car fix or buying something to work on the house.
Again thank you

Have you ever saw the Williams brand ones from years ago? They had a squared off slide in the jaw. Instead of how everyone else it's shaped round. Williams claimed being square was supposed to keep the jaw tighter. Mine sure aren't. Very worn haha

It's funny. I always thought Crescent invented the modern adjustable wrench and that's why we called them crescent wrenches. It turns out JP Johansson invented them in the 1890s. He started the Bahco tool company. Maybe we should call it the Bahco wrench.
