And would have lasted 1/5 of the way through their first battle. Rogues and scoundrels make excellent gorilla fighters, but the Rebels never had to numbers, resources, or desire to go toe to toe with the Empire. Even the attack on the second Deathstar was intended to be asymmetric.

I love the idea but unfortunately throughout history pure grit and determination doesn’t win wars and often just gets thousands of men killed and as terribly ineffective the stormtroopers and the empire is in the movies in other media they are a trained army. so I always rejected their battalion in my mind. I always preferred a more gurilla warfare style of sneak attacks, small skirmishes, and the espionage rather then the “they wanted it more” mentality

This book's ending was heartbreaking but such a good read.
