How about the DVD menu for "The Blair Witch Project?" That one is pretty good too! I'm just saying! LOL
ОтветитьThe original Dumb & Dumber and The Mask DVDs were pretty dull but they were done justice with their re-releases in 2005-2006
ОтветитьThe video should've been in 480p
ОтветитьConsidering, as of today in 2023, Streaming services like Netflix and HBO Max have been removing good shows whilst keeping the worst garbage, (Big mouth, Cuties, Velma, etc.) I get the strange but confident feeling that DVD's may actually see a resurgence in popularity very soon. Though unlikely, it would bring a smile to my face.
ОтветитьI think the worst dvd menu I saw was for Elvis, I mean it’s a biopic about Elvis fucking Presley and they only grabbed a still image of a scene from the movie with royalty free clapping and screaming sound effect, they didn’t even put an Elvis song for the menu
ОтветитьFastPlay is DISNEY only. It was debuted in 2004.
ОтветитьI know right? Fantasia 2000 had an awesome and creative dvd menu with panels of footage from the film flying around in space, then the Lego movie 2's menu had a still image with music, the exact same layout on the rest of the sections, and looked like they only had 5 minutes to make it. Company's have just put less and less effort into dvd menus, why can't they go back to the animated ones which are way better and make the dvd menu more engaging.
ОтветитьDVD is still around if you have the Blu-Ray combo pack that includes the DVD or the distributors just release a DVD only version
Ответитьthe DVD Menu for wallace and gromit: curse of the ware-rabbit, has rabbits on the DVD Menu.
ОтветитьI had a DVD for the fimbles as a kid. It has really cool menu options because there are pictures of characters and you can press on them and it will take you to other menus showing you episodes that the character you pressed on stared in. It was so cool, like you could find and watch the episodes that had your favourite character as the main character.
ОтветитьDvD is OLD its not that old
ОтветитьThis is a topic that feels ripe for a Scott the Woz episode...
And yet, it's on this channel! I love it.😊😊
One thing I should mention is that I have a special edition dvd of a Japanese movie starring Ryoko Hirosue that involves time traveling via a washing machine. The DVD's menu is that of the controls of the washing machine! Pretty cool, huh?
Never understood how fast play worked
ОтветитьI remember getting lost in these menus as a kid, like the Finding Nemo DVD, and discovering fun stuff like bonus features and hidden titles that you can find by skipping through every scene in the disc itself. Not movie scenes, disc scenes.
ОтветитьScene selections are fun to look at tbh, Sony ones are my least favourite, one reason is cos they’re all the same
ОтветитьThat stupid bell sound at the start triggered childhood memories... I haaaaated that sound!!!
ОтветитьIf you ever make a part 2 to this video you need to look at the dvd menus for series 1 to 4 of Doctor Who. They some of the best I have scene and I recommend watching them.
ОтветитьWow these were a nostalgia trip
ОтветитьGreat example of DVD menus: Monsters Inc Disc 2. Literally the BEST.
ОтветитьOld times: Unique Animated Dvd menu, other times, footage Reel.
Nower Days: a Stil Image with Some music or None,
WB these days uses the Still Image Menu, while Disney just straight up refuses to be Lazy.
Terminator 2 DVD "Extreme" menus is the best in my opinion. They put alot of details to it
ОтветитьIf you ever want a good scene selection menu try the transformers season 2 part 1 dvd
ОтветитьI remember I used to have a Toy Story 2 dvd. And it was a still frame menu showing woody and buzz. It had no music nor movement. And it used to terrify my 5 year old self because I swear to god I saw woody and buzz blink.
ОтветитьWarner Bros should be ashamed of themselves for making dvd menus look like P O O P
Ответить0 out of 10 has sausage movie
ОтветитьThe opening beep triggered me 😂
ОтветитьThat ding noise always scares dosent it scare u
ОтветитьSome of these dvd menus scared the crap out of me, because i saw the dark, and just the feeling.
ОтветитьWarner Bros. actually used Helvetica for their menus, not Arial. Arial is a more rounded design than Helvetica, with softer, fuller curves, and more open counters. The best difference between the two fonts is the number 1.
ОтветитьWarner Bros actually used to make animated menus, mind you.
ОтветитьMy favorite DVD menu of all time is the one for my copy of Spaceballs, mainly because of dark helmet saying “there is only one man who would dare give me the cheeseburger! Lonestar!” But the whole thing is great and feels like you’re inside of Spaceball 1
The worst one i have is the menu for all 4 Batman 1966 DVDs, just a basic ass stock menu with a loop of the theme song playing
In my opinion, I think Universal's stock DVD menus are worse than Warner Bros.'s stock DVD menus. Because with Warner Bros., they at least put the text "play movie", "scene selection", "set up" etc. on the menu options. With Universal's stock DVD menus, they're just icons, and you have to guess which icon does what if you're not familiar with them. These menus are just the 16:9 versions of the movie posters and the options are just icons, and text is nowhere to be seen. Not even the logo of the movie most of the times. The lack of text on the Universal DVD menus makes them feel empty and eerie, so that they're a perfect example of liminal space.
ОтветитьI wanna see what the bonus features are
Ответитьjust for fun I am going to turn this video into an actual DVD with the menus lol

I really like how you edited the video like it’s a direct-to-video documentary on DVD. It reminds me of my childhood.
ОтветитьI've always hated that ding on the language select screen. It always comes a second after the options appear, like it was put in the wrong spot and always feels like it says "Pay attention you stupid f***" And why is it there anyway? I set the player's language when l set it up. It doesn't need to ask again.
ОтветитьWjat about when Universal used the still image menues where the options were just icons, atleast warner bris had words with the icons. Tremors 5 is like this.
ОтветитьCan you make the DVD menu walk-through of this?
ОтветитьI miss fun DVD menus.
Damn lazy people...
