ОтветитьIn salad bar the word bar can mean two things. First it could be a bar like a pub or a club. Secondly it could also be buffet where people get the salad and eat the cucumber.
Ответитьthe cucumber who goes to the "salad bar" is like if he was hanging out with his friends, to a bar (tabern) called "salad". But the "salad bar" is also the place where you plate and serve salad
ОтветитьMe forcing my self to laugh just to say I'm fluent and to not missenterpret myself that I don't understand because I don't find it funny 😭

ОтветитьCall it a day has a different meaning
ОтветитьDoes American culture literacy equates to fluency in English? 🤨
Ответитьi think the key to make a person laugh by telling them a joke is not what it says but how it's said
ОтветитьStudent of English literature and understood 9/10 jokes apart from the let it go reference to the song.
ОтветитьThis just one giant trap for awful jokes
ОтветитьHi, I am an American here! For those who don’t understand the last joke about cucumbers going to a salad bar on date night, here is the meaning of the joke:
Cucumbers are often toppings that are put on salad. They can be found at a salad bar, which is a station with a lot of different salad toppings to put on your salad.
Now, a date is usually a romantic event for two people to get to know one another. You can have a date at a restaurant, movie theater, or… a bar! A bar is a place where you can purchase alcoholic beverages.
So where do cucumbers go on date night? The salad bar!

Ответитьmiss ma'am that's called having a humor not being American and open.😭😭😭
ОтветитьI am a 76 year old man so I have not seen the movie "Frozen", hense the joke meant nothing to me. The "ketchup" joke was good however because it is based on general knowledge i.e. everyone knows ketchup just like Coca Cola or Kleenex. The nose/foot joke was humoruos too. In answer to your last joke, a salad bar is an area in some restaurants that have salad making food items that you can select from and put on your plate, for example cucumbers. The other kind of "bar" is an alcoholic drink establishment where you can sit on a stool at a long table (bar) and drink and is often where people go to meet for a "date". So it is a play on words with two words that are spelled the same and sound the same but have two different meanings.
ОтветитьI get 8/10. I didn't understand 1 and 4 . 😅
Ответитьis it just me, or the jokes are corny? haha

ОтветитьWhy are chickens funny?
Becauuuuuuuuse! (In seemingly high tone like a chicken)
I didn't laugh not because I didn't understand it, I understood some jokes but they kinda cringe to me so that's why I didn't laugh
ОтветитьWhen I heard these jokes, I used to think they're like what Egyptians call "alsh", which are provocative jokes; rarely are they funny but we say them as a way of annoying each other in a hilarious way. After knowing this is the Americans' real jokes, I'd rather not have known.
